Hello,
I'm in a situation where I must use adaptive load balancing (ALB).
I know that adaptive load balancig (ALB) supports up to windows server 2012, but there is no way to use ALB in windows server 2016/2019?
Please advise.

Thank you.

Hello sslee,

Thank you for posting in Intel Ethernet Communities.

For us to further check the issue, please provide the following details.

  1. What is the complete model of your Intel network card?
  2. Or are you designing a board/system with Embedded network card?
  3. Can you tell us more about this test?

If you have questions, please let us know. In case we do not hear from you, we will make a follow up after 3 workings days. Thank you.

Best regards,

Dear Michael L.

1. intel X520
2. No.
3. I can't tell you the details, but the ALB function is required in the current project. Windows server 2012R2 had ALB in the teaming option. Since 2012R2, the discontinued OS, cannot be used, you have to use windows server 2016/2019, but we confirmed that 2016/2019 does not support ALB. Is it really impossible?

Best regards,

Hello sslee,

Thank you for the quick reply. I have here the link which answers your inquiry on why ALB is not available on Windows Server 2016*/2019*.

However, I also found this link with a guide including your OS. You can try to follow this link, just to check if this will work for you.
