Does the I210 ship with a unique MAC Address for each chip, or do MACs need to be purchased and manually assigned? In my experience it's always been the latter, but the manual has some bits that suggest that there's a unique factory setting that can be reapplied over a user MAC.

Hi Mdbetn,
Thank you for the post. According to the FAQ on page 9
"Fields that are normally subject to change by the OEM, such as the MAC address, PCI subsystem ID fields and LED customizations, can be changed without invalidating
the digital signature."
But let me further check and provide you the updates. thank you.

wb,
My specific question is whether the I210 ships with a valid, unique MAC Address or whether one must be purchased and programmed by the implementer. I understand that it can be changed later by the end user. Right now I am trying to confirm that I will need to purchase a MAC Address for each I210.
Is it correct that I will need to purchase MAC Addresses for each I210 and assign them using the Network Config tools or the PCIe interface?
Thanks,
mdbetn

wb,
Ok, so the I210 does not come with a pre-programmed MAC address. Figured that would be the case. Thanks.
