Hello ,
We want to test PTP Hardware Timestamping on Windows via Windows API.
After long research through Intel pages,forums,datasheet..etc.. we ordered Intel i210-t NICs.
Here is my reference for your claim of Windows PTP support :
Do Intel Ethernet Drivers Support IEEE 1588 in Windows*?
E1R driver for I210,...
We have purchased the NICs. I have pluged them , installed the latest driver (Wired_driver_30.4_x64.zip) . On the adapter settings, there is no option for PTP.
I also looked for the PROSet tool , there is no extra installer after version 29.4 .
This version also shows no PTP option.
We bought this cards specificly to test Windows Timestamping support . I can send the serial numbers if required. They are Intel Ethernet Server Adapter I210-T Single (I210T1BLK) NICs.
Windows OS version is Win 10 Pro Release 1809 build 17763 .If any other information is relevant and required, i can share.
This references have ben already read and taken in consideration  however it is dated back on 2011 and the reference i shared  above is newer.

Waiting for your reply to be able to go on with our work.

Hello ElifKaplan,
Greetings!!
Thank you for contacting intel,
The Intel® Ethernet Network Adapter I210 supports Precision Time Protocol (PTP) Hardware (HW) Timestamp under Windows® 10. We kindly request you to refer to the below article for further details.
Does Intel® Ethernet Network Adapter I350 Series Supports Precision Time Protocol (PTP) Hardware (HW) Timestamp under Windows® 10?

Hello Pujeeth,
Thanks you for the reply.
Unfortunately it did not solve the problem.
The page claimes i210 and i350 NICs support PTP and directs readers to the link below for PROSet ACU
However this package is the driver package(Wired_driver_30.4_x64.zip) I already download and installed via Setup script inside. I also mentioned it in my original post :
"We have purchased the NICs. I have pluged them , installed the latest driver (Wired_driver_30.4_x64.zip) . On the adapter settings, there is no option for PTP."
There is no installer for PROSet ACU . Beside that in Quick Start guide there is a part for ProSet.It is old information obviously because it says "it is possible to install ProSet separately"(not the later version ProSet ACU) and directs to not a download site but to http://support.intel.com .Another dead end.
There is also this line in the page you referred :
"PROSet has been discontinued. PROSet features are now handled by Ethernet Cmdlets."
PROSet ? what about PROSet ACU ? Now Ethernet Cmdlets ?
Can you please clarify this confusion ? And share with me direct install link what ever i need under Window for ptp support ? i have already downloaded and installed wired_driver_30.4. What else ?
Regards,
Elif

Hello ,
A desktopPC with
CPU : Intel(R) Celeron(R) CPU J1900 @ 1.99GHz Intel64 Family 6 Model 55
Mainboard : ASRock Q1900M
BIOS : P1.70 ALASKA - 1072009
OS : Windows 10 Pro 1809 17763
NICs we have purchased are the same in this picture : link
A new information , i installed the card to an identical pc with windows 11 .There the PTP option is seen available in adapter settings. PCs are identical. So the hardware does not seem to be the issue.

(I have shared the photos with Pujeeth via private message. Here is the post for public share)
Here are the photos.
However i think , this is not the right direction we are headed. The card is installed without problem.
As i have already informed, it has no problem unter Windows 11. I can even see the NIC's ptp option under Win 11 ( i am looking for a way to test it now if the driver supports the WinAPI for ptp , but not only show the hardware option to turn on /off)
Question is why i cannot under windows 10 (1809 which should be the version also supports NIC's this feature.)
Best Regards

Hi ElifKaplan,
Greetings!
We woud like to inform you that the PTPv2 is enabled with the two different timestamp registry keywords:
*PtpHardwareTimestamp and *SoftwareTimestamp. They are both disabled by default, but you can see them in the INF as well.
Get-NetAdapterAdvancedProperty -name ethernet | ft RegistryKeyword, RegistryValue
RegistryKeyword RegistryValue
--------------- -------------
*PtpHardwareTimestamp {0}
*SoftwareTimestamp {0}
For more information please refer Section 4.29.1 PTP Hardware Timestamp of the Adapter User Guide (Page: 73)
Link to Adapter User Guide: https://edc.intel.com/preview/content/www/us/en/design/products/ethernet/adapters-and-devices-user-guide/30.4/ptp-hardware-timestamp/
To change this setting in Windows PowerShell, use the Set-IntelNetAdapterSetting cmdlet.
For example:
Set-IntelNetAdapterSetting -Name "<adapter_name>" -DisplayName "PTP Hardware Timestamp" -DisplayValue "Enabled"

Hello Pujeeth ,
As i cannot wait to go on with the project i have been working under Windows 11 , where PTP setting for i210 adapter is visible .
Also for windows 11 there are issues. I mentioned them below, now back to Win 10 about latest solution suggestion.
If this option would be available through cmdlet or somethin else, i would habe been able to see also as adapter settings (as part of windows adapter advance settings) .
Yes i tried. Intel Cmdlet commands shows the setting what are also visible as adapter settings (OS adapter options window) .
So still , there is no trace of ptp timestamping support under Window 10 also through cmdlet.
May be i should reformulate the question/issue : "what does "ptp support" mean for i210? "
Different level of "support of this feature" :
- Hardware stamps the packets : HW support. (Yes it is there. At least i can say that for Windows 11..Still what about win10?)
 - Driver makes available to switch on/off this feature . (yes for Windows 11/ for now no for Windows 10)
 - Driver has the support of Windows Hw timestamping API  which should/might include :
- API function implementation to query hardware timestamping capability
 - (through sockets ) ability to turn on/off,
 - API function implementation to get timestamp for rx an tx,
 - API function implementation to get cross timestamp .

Which ones are available for Intel I210 under windows 10 and/or windows 11? Is there a way to learn these ?
As i mentioned above, even under Windows11 , even i can see the option of ptp timestamping enable/disbale, i cannot use the Windows API to reach timestamps for now.
Happy to hear any info from you.
