Hi

I am a member of the Oracle Linux team

I am trying to locate the source for

nvmupdate64e. tool

It hangs when executed.

/E810/TOOLS/Linux_x64/OEM_Mfg/nvmupdate64e -l -iIntel(R) Ethernet NVM Update Tool
NVMUpdate version 1.38.3.7

Warning: Cannot initialize port: [00:152:00:00] Intel(R) Ethernet Converged Network Adapter X550-T2

 <hangs>

I need determine what. it is doing that stops it from gathering the info .  Eventually we will need the driver updated.

Oracle has a NDA signed with Intel . We should be able to get the source of this tool.

Thank you,

John

Hello jpdn,

Thank you for posting on Intel Ethernet Communities.

Since you're concern is regarding an NVM update for an Intel Ethernet Network Adapter E810-XXV-2, can we ask for you to provide us first a picture of the markings both front and back of the card so we can determine if you are using a retail card or an OEM card.

Also can we ask if you are having any issues with your ethernet adapter?

If you have questions or other clarifications please let us know so we can help you further

Awaiting to hear from you soon, should there be no response from you, I’ll make sure to reach out after 3 business days. Thank you and have a nice day!

Best regards,

Hello Zigfreid ,

The adapter is an Intel provided adapter  for engineering evaluation.

I don't have physical access to the lab  where the adapter(s)  are in to take a photo of it .

Hello jpdn,

Firstly we do apologize for the delay in providing you our response, since our system failed to update us of your new message. We would like to confirm the NIC that you are referring is an Intel engineering sample, would that be correct? Can you provide us an SSU log instead so that we can be certain and check as well your system.

Please follow the steps below to generate your SSU:

1. Download the Intel® System Support Utility and save the application to your system.

*Windows

https://www.intel.com/content/www/us/en/download/18377/25293/intel-system-support-utility-for-windows.html?product=91600

*Linux

https://www.intel.com/content/www/us/en/download/18895/26735/intel-system-support-utility-for-the-linux-operating-system.html?

2. Open the application and click Scan to see system and device information. The Intel® System Support Utility defaults to the Summary View on the output screen following the scan. Click the menu where it says summary to change to Detailed View.

3. To save your scan, click Next and click Save. You can save the file to any accessible location on your computer.

Note: Please put a tick on "Everything" when scanning the log

4. Please attach the file on the email that I have provided you or on this thread when you reply.

We can also continue via email instead, please check your email as I have sent you a response as well.

Hoping to hear from you soon.

Should there be no response from you, I’ll make sure to reach out after 3 business days

Best regards,
