Hi,

I would like to inquire about the meaning of the parameters in the E-tile cpri phy IP user guide

As shown in table 91,What is the UI period in this ip and how to confirm the UI period?

Hi,

UI Period is Unit Interval.

eg, If you want to transfer 10G rate, your actual line rate is 10.3125G due to 64b/66b encoding. In this case, your UI Period = 1/10.3125 ns.

Similarly, if want to transfer at 2.5G, your actual line rate is 3.125G due to 8b/10b encoding. In this case, your UI Period = 1/3.125 ns.

Hope this clarifies.

Thank you,

Kshitij Goel
