Hi everyone.

I'm just starting to work with Nios II Embedded Evaluation Kit.

When I wanted to watch demos from SD card, it gave me an error: error loading application <name>. And the loading bar is all across the screen

What is the source of problem?

Regards.

In case of solivng the problem I tried to restore the original flash image from factory_recovery folder. I followed intsructions from user guide.

When I use Nios Command Shell to restore, it gives me next message:

"restore_cycloneIII_3c25.flash: Unable to open input file

Empty flash content cannot be programmed or verified"

Any ideas?

Hi KD2K9,

Yea, in this case, it seems like the factory contents which is the application selector had been erased from your flash. Therefore you need to restore back. Somehow, you were not successful to program the flash. Could you please share us how did you solve the error?

Thanks,

Caridee

You are absolutly right.

I used to work with examples from AlteraWiki and somehow damaged flash content of application selector (one of possible reasons, because after restoring it works fine and application selector too).

Fail of restoring original flash is only my fault (I used wrong command). So if you follow intstructions from user guide, it will fine. But in addition to address you have include your cable: --cable=USB-Blaster

Best wishes,

Yaroslav
