Hello support Team,

We have 5CGXFC7D6F31I7N FPGA for which we had used LTC3608EWKG#PBF power IC for the power ON sequence (which is taken as a reference from evaluation board), but As right now LTC3608 is not available, Can we use LTC3605EUF (which has max current of 5 A)? Request to provide feedback.

Hi,

I understand that the replacement regulator is has a reduced maximum current.

However, in order to choose a power regulator, first the FPGA requirement should be known. Intel provided the Early Power Estimator tool, to estimate the current requirement for each rail based on the FPGA design details.

You can get the EPE tool from following link:

https://www.intel.com/content/www/us/en/support/programmable/support-resources/power/cy4-5-estimator-download.html

Also, there is a white paper on how to select a power regulator. Please following the link:

Hope this helps.
