Hi,
I have DE1-SoC Cyclone V FPGA, I need to connect the PZEM-004T, which is a power management module working on RS232.
Can I use GPIO as RS232? if the answer is yes how to configure or any examples.
Any example or procedure to configure the USB-UART on DE1 to connect the module PZEM-004T.
Please find attached the wiring of the PZEM-004T.
Regards.

Hi Yassine,
Sorry for the delay in replying, I'm Kian and will be supporting on this case.
As per your question, looking at the schematic on DE1-SoC, I dont think it is possible as most UART pins are taken up for other functionality or not connected (not exposed on any of the IO headers on the board) , and the existing HPS UART is connected to usb micro.
You can download some terasic examples or the schematic from here (https://www.terasic.com.tw/cgi-bin/page/archive.pl?Language=English&CategoryNo=167&No=836&PartNo=4#contents) but I'm afraid doesnt have any that suits your needs.
Alternatively to confirm on this, you could email Terasic Support (support@terasic.com) to get their confirmation whether possible to utilize any ports for RS232 for PZEM-004T.
Thanks
Regards
Kian
