Hello i have just upgraded my pc with new i5-14400f, arc b570 and asrock b760m-hdv/m.2 motherboard. The problem is that i cant run my old favourite games like Rome total war, Gothic and Alien nations 2. It seems like the problem lies in the new graphic card.

Hi Wincek,
Thank you for reaching out to the Intel Community Forum. To assist us in investigating the issue, please provide the following details:
- Did you recently upgrade multiple components at once (processor, GPU, and motherboard)?
- Are you seeing any specific error messages when launching or playing the games? If so, could you share screenshots of these errors?
- Is this affecting only the games you mentioned, or are other games experiencing similar problems?
- Which gaming platform are you using (Steam, Epic Games, etc.)?
- What steps have you already tried to resolve this issue?
- Have you used Display Driver Uninstaller (DDU) to completely remove old graphics drivers before installing new ones?
- Is Resizable BAR enabled in your system BIOS?
Additionally, to gain a comprehensive understanding of your system, please use the System Support Utility (SSU). This tool will generate a text file compiling all your system information. You can follow the instructions at this link and send the text file here. Help Guide for the Intel® System Support Utility.

Hi Wincek,
Thank you for the update and providing the error message on Gothic 2
To further diagnose the issue, can you provide the following details?
- What operating system are you running, and is it a fresh installation or did you migrate from your previous system?
- Are you running these games in compatibility mode? If so, which Windows version compatibility settings have you tried?
- Have you tried running the games as administrator?
- What was your previous GPU model, and did these games work fine on that system?
- Which version of the Intel Arc graphics drivers are you currently using? Have you tried both the latest and previous driver versions?
- Are you using any third-party software like MSI Afterburner, Riva Tuner, or overlay applications that might conflict with older games?
- Have you checked if Windows Defender or other antivirus software is blocking or interfering with these game executables?
- For the "Access violation" error in Gothic 2, does this occur immediately upon launch or during specific gameplay moments?
- Have you tried launching these games in windowed mode instead of Fullscreen?
- What power supply unit are you using, and have you confirmed it's adequate for the new components?
- Are you experiencing any issues with newer games, or is this problem isolated to older titles?
- Have you checked Windows Event Viewer for any related error logs when these crashes occur?
Additionally, it would be very helpful if you could provide an Intel® System Support Utility (SSU) log file to better understand your system configuration.
To generate the log file:
- Download the Intel® SSU from this link: Intel® System Support Utility for Windows*
- Launch the application and select the checkbox for “Everything”
- Click Scan
- When the scan completes, click Next, then Save
- Attach and send the saved file with your response
If you have any questions, please let us know. Thank you.

I have activated my windows 10 again and it helped a bit. Both Rome total war and Gothic 1&2 are running although both gothics have a blue large flashing streak halfway down the screen which makes it unplayable.
