An Intel Driver Update Issue is Causing Further Problems on My Device.

Since, I want to say, late October of last year, an issue I've had since 2022 (that had been fixed a year after) had returned, and I've spent many support calls and researching to figure out what I could do to fix this issue.

This issue I'm referring to started out as something I'd audibly notice, as every now and then, a crackle would be heard anytime I watch/listen to media on this device. As I had said before, this issue was somehow fixed in 2023 (if I remember correctly, they reinstalled some version of the BIOS, but I can't be too sure) and had not been an issue up until two years later, when it came up again after I had installed an update to the drivers of my Intel device.

My specifications are as follows:

HP-OMEN 16-k0xxx   -     Windows 11 Home Version 22H2

Processor:          12th Gen Intel(R) Core(TM) i7-12700H (2.30 GHz)

When I had given up after many attempts to getting it fixed through multiple online support assistants, I noticed that this issue had started affecting the performance and the behaviors of my PC. (Examples being distorted mic input, frame stutters when certain programs are open, when they weren't happening before.)

When I had attempted to install the recent driver version through Intel Arc, it would go through the process (using Clean Installation), and say that the drivers had been updated successfully. I'd need to restart the PC to fully finish everything, but when I do go to restart, not only would the Arc program tell me there's an update for the driver, the support website would also tell me that an error had occurred in installing the driver update.

I don't know if it's a compatibility issue, or if my device is already too outdated to get newer versions and that I have to now downgrade, I don't know. At this point, I just want answers and a way to finally fix this issue, because at the time of typing this, Intel's Live Chat system (something I've relied on that was able to fix this issue) doesn't seem to be available for me to use.

If anyone here can provide some help, advices and support for this issue I've been having, it would greatly be appreciated!

1. Did you tried to install  Intel® Graphics Driver 32.0.101.7084? 

2. In order to get better information about your system, please download the Intel System Support Utility (SSU). Run the SSU scan (check  "Everything") and save the results. The .txt file with the results please attach to your post.

You should open a new thread of yours. You have different computer and probably other problem.

Hi @ntnarts 

1. You have BIOS set to Legacy Boot mode instead to UEFI. So, first convert it to UEFI. 

2. I understand that your computer is a HP Laptop. So, after converting the BIOS Boot Mode to UEFI, find the download page for you computer in the HP site. Download the Chipset Driver and Management Engine Driver.  First, install the Chipset Driver and then The ME Driver. 

3. Reboot your computer.

4. Now try to install the Intel Graphics Driver. I recommend to install the driver downloaded from the OEM site. In many cases, the OEM customizes the Graphics Driver.
