Arc A380 on H110 motherboard

Hi, I currently own an intel 6th gen i5 processor along with motherboard of Gigabyte H110m-h. I would soon upgrade to an intel 12th gen but for the mean time was looking for a graphics card, will the A380 work for me, I don't need the max performance on it off the gate, I need it as a video card for now. Performance aside will it at least function without rebar like Nvidia or AMD cards do? If yes please let me know as I would then invest in arc A380

Hello Melty,

Thank you for posting in our Communities.

The Intel A380 GPU is a part of the Intel Arc 3 series family. With this GPU you can enjoy mainstream 1080p gaming at low/medium quality levels on most games while having a powerful video editing solution.

For more information you can visit this web site: https://www.intel.com/content/www/us/en/products/docs/discrete-gpus/arc/desktop/a-series/3.html

Please note that Resizable BAR (ReBAR) must be supported by your motherboard. ReBAR is essential for all GPU workloads and without it the performance penalties can be high or even severe. For more information on Arc GPU requirements you can check this web site: https://www.intel.com/content/www/us/en/support/articles/000091128/graphics.html

My pc doesn't have the rebar feature, does that mean it will absolutely not work in my pc? Not even as a display adaptor?

Hello Melty,

Good question. I want to let you know that we do recommend enabling the rebar in your system before using the Intel Arc 380 so the performance will not be affected. However, seeing the motherboard model, I can confirm that it is not also compatible with upgrading to 12th gen CPU. This means that if you want to upgrade your CPU to 12th gen, you will also need to change your current Gigabyte H110m-h motherboard. Newer motherboard system often have rebar enabled. If you want a list of compatible Gigabyte system for the 12th gen CPU that you want to use with rebar feature, you may also reach out to them at this link: Support Services Center. If you have a specific 12th gen CPU in mind, I can give you a list of compatible motherboards as well if you specify the model.

I hope I was able to answer this for you. I highly recommend choosing a motherboard that has the rebar enabled. Let me know if you have further questions. I will be waiting for your reply.

Hello Melty,

I hope I was able to clarify that you need a motherboard that enables the Rebar feature in order to use the Intel Arc 380 with it's full capability. Using the Intel Arc without the rebar enabled may work, however it can affect the graphics card overall performance.

Kindly please let me know if you have further questions and I will answer them for you. Have you also reached out to Gigabyte for their available motherboards with the rebar feature? I will be waiting for your reply.
