(Arc B580) Performance issues with screen resolution (16:9 - 1920x1080 and 16:10 - 1920x1200)

I have problem in games with the resolution I play with.

any game that I play I discovered that playing in 16:9 give less FPS than 16:10

as a example playing CS2 on 16:9 (1920x1080 or 2560x1440) I get 30-45 frames in the main menu and 50-70 in game. But changing the resolution to 16:10 (1920x1200) gives a massive increase to fps. in cs2 menu i get 140-150 frames while in game I get 130-140 FPS.

I've tried reinstalling drivers and common fixes but it still doesn't work.

if there's any solution to this problem please leave a tip

Hello Jammy322,

Thank you for raising this concern via the Intel Community.

I understand that you are getting significantly lower FPS when using 16:9 resolutions compared to 16:10 on your Intel® Arc™ B580.

To better understand the issue, please confirm the following:

  1. What is your monitor’s native resolution?
  2. Does this happen only in CS2, or in other games as well?
  3. Is the game running in Fullscreen exclusive mode or borderless mode?
  4. What graphics API are you using (DX11, Vulkan, etc.)?
  5. What refresh rate is currently set on the monitor?
  6. Have you tested older or newer graphics driver versions besides the current one?
  7. Have you tried performing a clean driver installation using DDU before reinstalling the driver?
  8. If possible, could you share a short video showing the issue?

Additionally, to better understand your system's configuration, I kindly request that you download the Intel® System Support Utility for Windows* software.

You can find the download link here:

      1. Download and launch SSU.exe.
      2. Check the box for “Everything,” then uncheck Networking for your privacy.
      3. Click "Scan."
      4. When the scanning is complete, click "Next."
      5. Click "Save."
      6. Please send the saved file to us.

This information will greatly assist us in diagnosing and addressing the specific concerns with your system. If you encounter any challenges during this process or have additional questions, please don't hesitate to let us know.

Thank you, and I’ll proceed once I have your response.

Best regards,

Hello Jammy322,

Thank you for providing the requested information. Upon reviewing the SSU report, I found that your BIOS and graphics drivers are outdated. To help isolate the issue, I highly advise updating them to the latest version.

You may refer to the links below:

After performing the updates, please test the game again and let us know if the issue persists.

I am already on the latest version of my bios. Also I have a B550M Aorus Elite (Rev. 1.3) and the latest version is FG

and also my GPU is on the newest driver as well. Here's a picture of it:

Hello Jammy322,

Thank you for performing the recommended steps.

To help me further investigate the issue, could you please provide a CapFrameX capture while the issue is occurring? For your reference, you may refer to the instructions below.

CapFrameX Installation instructions:

  1. Go to https://www.capframex.com/download and download the latest version of CapframeX.
  2. Go to https://www.guru3d.com/files-details/rtss-rivatuner-statistics-server-download.html and download the latest version of RTSS.
  3. Unzip both installers and install them.
  4. Launch CapFrameX and then close it. This is so it creates the user Configuration folder.
  5. Download and unzip the file OverlayEntryConfiguration_0.json (attached in this post) with the recommended RTSS configuration.
  6. Paste this file to %userprofile%\Documents\CapFrameX\Configuration.
  7. In the Capture tab, set the "Capture time" to 0. This is to remove the preset limit in capture time.
  8. In the Overlay tab, uncheck "Auto-Disable OSD" and click the save icon.

Capturing the Performance Data:

  1. Open CapframeX and do NOT minimize or close it.
  2. Open the game and go to the part of the game you need to be to reproduce the issue. You should see the RTSS overlay in the top left corner of your screen, with the status "<game name> ready to capture…".
  3. Press F11 to start capturing data and reproduce the issue. The Status in the overlay will change to "Recording frametimes XX s".
  4. Once you have reproduced the issue, press F11 to finish the data capturing. The Status in the overlay will change to "Processing data".
  5. Back to CapFrameX, you can find all the data captures in the left panel of the Analysis tab. Clicking any one of these captures will display the results on the right.
  6. To export the data captured as a JSON file, right click the capture and click on "Copy/paste recording file(s)".

Kindly ensure each capture is recorded for at least 300 seconds (5 minutes) for both 16:9 and 16:10 resolutions.

Thank you, and I’ll wait for your response.

Best regards,
