The issue started when I installed the driver 31.0.101.4672 and I installed it on the September 2nd

I dont know which Intel Arc Control version is installed, but I know it is from the first days of August this year.

The screenshot of the error is in german but it basically sais:

Driver

Timeout when searching for updates. The Intel driver support assistant is possibly offline or got problems, finding the newest driver version. We will try it again in a few minutes.

Hello Moty,

I am sorry to hear that you are having difficulties attaching the file.

Let's try to follow the step-by-step instructions below to attach it and avoid receiving an error message or something similar:

Download Intel® System Support Utility for Windows* software. When the download is complete, launch SSU.exe.

  1. Scan: Check the box Everything.
  2. Click Scan.
  3. Review: When finished scanning, click Next.
  4. Click Save. This will generate a .txt file, the one that I need you to attach.

This issue isn't localized to any specific operating system, system register value and is unable to update through the Intel Arc Control

We've supplied more data than some of these repetitive inquiries and (some times) huge asks for (often) sensitive information that contains more than is needed without offering tools to ease this process, like asking for enormous logs and the community have not given up.

So, why is it that we have continued to uninstall, reinstall, clean-installed and been referred to a third party to use DDU, to safe-mode uninstall with a vast amount of different driver versions and still get asked to supply terabytes of data, yet it doesn't work?

Are we not closer to early high-stakes investors than ants that deserves nothing but the run-around, since this was a gamble on our part, being your first dedicated mid-range budget GPU full stand-alone functionality regardless of shipset and processor?

It is a gorgeous and stylistic piece of well engineered and thought-out design, and it works well with the latest driver, which I've watched blossom to options and then finally get to set our own to record, among other things.

But, hey. Don't drop the ball now, you've gotten so far with a new possibly explosive expanding group of consumers

It doesn't just need to look good, work well and deliver competitive performance since it won't matter for long if we're constantly asked to do admin-privilegie requirement maintenance that yield mixed or dissatisfactory results.

"But we are trying, could you send me a video of you doing what we've never failed to repeat even when no reply might be more useful", right? That's a paraphrase of every response on official and gathering high ranks on google and bing until the only thing you see when you look up the Arc GPU is "Update has issues!" or worse, from my perspective as a fan that hopes to get continuation in next-gen and yours with quotas to meet, when you see -

"All the steps, as administrator, with third party software you need to do to [hopefully] fix the driver update issue"

You don't even host a link to in the driver download section, yet demand people use without coverage in any form from Intel or Microsoft, if anything would go wrong. Naturally a couple of thousand people are told to do, did and repeat something they couldn't possibly be technically informed (all can't be monoliths) enough to pull off.

Yet it is repeatedly referred to and encouraged, warning means as much as the implication of such can, and will, carry without a concern in the world for all the "damages for valuable time/data" the ones ending up with a bricked system.

Lost homework, gigabytes of cr2 and raw, psd and mpk, art or work, the laymen will and have unexpectedly lost one of these things at least once because of the responsibility put on consumers to satiate a need to fix something none of us caused to bug.

I guess it's good suggesting people make back-up's of everything before doing anything. It's very easy to back-up a complete image of how your system is setup, programs installed and URL's and LAN smb paths listed, and so forth since that requires arguably more technical skills to perform, I say as a professional, not a layman. Oh, I forgot to mention that back-up comes with a cost of unexpected required storage, or assistance from a IT-technician. Since most of us didn't buy a duplicate of our systemdrive when we bought the GPU it most likely could cause more costs, and like everything 1% enjoy and 99% suffer from, more costs means less of everything else.

It bothers me to experience the treatment and experiencing expert suggestions being very good and busy bees, that know how to be polite and ask in just the right way - to keep people occupied, providing data that is extremely valuable en masse - you'd likely have to pay for from the third-party information scrapers built-in with even the latest "Secure browser that focus on privacy!" used by, again, laymen and professionals alike.

We fixed the update issue, we did what we had to, coded a stand-alone tool in corporation with Microsoft and it's open source too!

Oh, man. It happened. It finally happened.

Or.. did it?

I will check in a couple of months, half a year. Then, maybe? I mean, I have my backup now, I lost the family photos and had to skip medicine this month because of the need for the IT-guy and a drive to store it on. But.. This made it worth while.

Sorry, that wasn't me. Or, it was but I was playing the role of statistical-man. A bit of everything, nerd, layman, working class that had a rich grandma sixteen generations ago. But still. It stands.
