Intel has preliminary drivers supporting Microsoft Windows* 7 Betaincluded with the Beta for the following Intel integrated graphics controllers:

  • Intel(R) G41/G43/G45/Q43/Q45 Express Chipsets
  • Mobile Intel(R) 4 Series Express Chipset Family
  • Intel(R) G31/G33/G35/Q33/Q35 Express Chipsets
  • Intel(R) G965/Q963/Q965 Express Chipsets
  • Mobile Intel(R) 965 Express Chipset Family
  • Intel(R) 946GZ Express Chipset
  • Intel(R) 945G/GC/GT/GZ Express Chipsets
  • Mobile Intel(R) 945 Express Chipset Family

However, since Microsoft Windows 7 is a Beta version, testing and optimizations are ongoing and therefore may have unintended effects on your system. Intel will begin support when Microsoft launches the production versions of this operating system.

So if we want to take a chance, where can we find these drivers?

Currently, these drivers are only included inside the Windows 7 Beta operating system and are not available for individual download.

Though not supporting all Intel integrated graphics controllers, production versions of Intel drivers for Windows 7 will be made available for download from the Intel support web site when Microsoft has launched production versions of the Windows 7.

For latest information about Microsoft's Windows 7, see http://www.microsoft.com/windows/windows-7/ http://www.microsoft.com/windows/windows-7/

i've been using Windows 7 Beta for a couple of months now and been using the vista drives for my x3100 graphics core.

My guess is that there will be almost a copy and paste between the vista and 7 drives seeing as 7 aims to be application and driver compatible with vista.

thank you, i upgraded vista business to 7 Beta about 2 months ago, been working in a production environment with it but have had severe display problems with my Mobile Intel(R) 965 Express Chipset Family, so activated the (seemingly cached) drivers for vista (because the setup file says wrong os) and all the problems seem to have disappeared.

thank you again.

I also had the Mobile chipset 965 (which included the X3100 graphics) that came with my dell D630.

The intel drivers woudln't work either on my laptop. it said that i didn't have the proper graphics. The only drivers that worked were the Dell Drivers for Vista.

OK, let's say you are bonehead like me that, in testing some W7 drivers for an external display adapter, has somehow damaged the GMA 500 driver installation and I need to refresh it. Any hints where I might grab the latest driver kit? I'm really trying to avoid reinstalling the W7 kit as I don't want other variables to change on me.

I installed the beta drivers for my DG45ID motherboard, and my hauppauge TV tuner would not play in windows media center. I put the vista drivers back in and all is well again

Now I'm beginning to suspect that the W7 driver problem I'm seeing may not be due to the driver for the add-on hardware but the beta W7 GMA 500 driver itself. I decided to try a different add-on display and found the GMA 500 driver was once again clobbered by the add-on. It looks similar to an enumeration problem I saw once back in the Vista RC days.

Is there ANYBODY in Intel following this thread? Can you connect me with the driver writer? Was the W7 driver done by Tungsten also? Who owns it?

Getting worried that this won't be looked at before W7 releases...

Are we going to have to rely on nVidia or someone else to help us out with Graphics drivers since Intel isn't?
