B570 fan control

I have set a fan speed curve, but it cannot control it well, especially in low-power scenarios (office applications and videos that do not rely on graphics card performance). And, the fan keeps starting and pausing (or in other words, the speed keeps changing but doesn't match the curve). In theory, when GPU is at a low temperature(<40℃), the fan speed is 0. This situation will distract me and worry about the lifespan of the fan. Which driver version can fix this problem? I think fan control should be simpler than fixing game compatibility, right?

Hi FLOW_999,

Thank you for posting in our Community and for bringing your concern regarding the fan control behavior on your B570 to our attention. Your observation is valid in theory, a fan curve set to 0% below 40°C should prevent the fan from spinning. However, what you're experiencing, frequent spin-up and spin-down behavior, may be the result of how the embedded controller (EC) or firmware interprets thermal thresholds in conjunction with the GPU driver. While fan control might seem simpler than game optimization, in practice, it's often tightly coupled with the system firmware and OEM-specific implementations, not solely the GPU driver. The Intel driver does not directly control the fan curve, instead, it communicates telemetry, and the system firmware or OEM software usually executes fan control based on those signals.

The Fan Control Functionality was added in the driver version 31.0.101.4369 and Intel® Arc™ Control 1.68.4938.6. The feature will allow setting a customized fan curve.

Download and install the latest available driver from Download Center.

Refer to Clean Installation of Intel® Graphics Drivers in Windows for installation instructions

The Intel Arc A-Series Mobile Graphics does not have a fan feature within the Intel Arc Control settings or the performance telemetry. The cooling system of the graphics adapter is provided by the manufacturer of the system.

Have a nice day!

I compromised, the current method is to set the curve to the same 31% speed at 25-45 ℃. It's pretty good now, the only problem is that the fan keeps running, but the sound is very low. GUNNIR's fan is great and quiet.

Hello FLOW_999,

Thank you for the update, and I appreciate you sharing your workaround. It’s great to hear that the 31% fan curve is keeping temperatures in check while maintaining a low noise level. Continuous fan operation at a consistent low speed is normal behavior in this configuration and helps ensure thermal stability.

Please let me know if there’s anything else you need assistance with or if there are any other concerns you'd like us to address. Otherwise, may I confirm if we can proceed with closing this case?
