B580 DCS World Heat blur artifact

Using the latest DCS version as of today and the current graphic driver, DCS world is still showing a artifact when heat blur is turned on. See attached screen shot.Heat-blur.jpg

I would just like to confirm if I got this correctly, by DCS do you mean Digital Combat Simulator? If so, please share the information below for me to address this properly.

 

1. Was this working fine before? If yes, are there any recent changes to the system?

2. Is the issue isolated to this game?

3. When heat blur is turned off, will the issue be fixed?

4. Which version of the game are you using?

 

Additionally, to have a better understanding of your system configuration and components please generate System Support Utility (SSU) report. Please follow instructions here and send the report - How to get the Intel® System Support Utility Logs on Windows*

HI Jed,

Yes I do mean Digital Combat Simulator.

With the current computer set up but using a Geforce GTX 970 the system ran without the heat blur issue. When I got the B580 the issue appeared. To answer the rest of your questions see below.

2. Is the issue isolated to this game? So far yes.

3. When heat blur is turned off, will the issue be fixed? True, turning the option off fixes the issue

4. Which version of the game are you using?  Just updated this morning. version 2.9.15.9509, and issue still evident

Game updated this morning but no effect on the issue. Settings are just on high graphics. See screen shot attached

Upon checking, it seems that the game can be downloaded from both Steam and the DCS World website. Kindly inform me on where did you download the game so we can accurately replicate the issue.

Hi Jed,

I have the game from both sources, The issue shows up on the A10 free and A10 C versions of aircraft and the free Su 24 or Mig 29.

Hi Jed,

The blow might help seeing the issue. On the initial loading page set the graphics to High. Then once DCS loads up, click on instant action in the top right menu. Pick a jet from the list showing up, and from the list that shows up then choose an option where the aircraft is in the air, e.g. not a cold start or takeoff option. Once the game loads you will be in the cockpit. Hit the F2 function key, which take you outside the aircraft, and you should see the heat blur effect. If for some reason it is not showing up, press the Plus key on the keyboard number pad several times and it will appear. This is needed for the Mig29 and F15 otherwise it looks like there is no problem. The same procedure can be followed for Web DCS and Steam DCS. You do not need to purchase any planes as the free jet (s) will be enough.

As a work around I set the graphics to high then turn the heat blur off.
