Black Screen Issue in Marvel Spider-Man 2 with Intel Iris Xe Graphics 32.0.101.6559 WHQL Certified

I am reaching out to report an ongoing issue with the Intel Iris Xe Graphics while playing Marvel’s Spider-Man 2 (2025). The game runs fine at 720p with  30fps, but I experience a black screen with only audio working (no stuttering) during gameplay. The issue persists despite downloading and installing the latest driver (version 32.0.101.6559 WHQL Certified).

Here is a video that demonstrates the issue, which you can view here: https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=osrSUD_L58I

And to answer your question from previous inquiry : https://community.intel.com/t5/Graphics/Request-for-Fix-Black-Screen-Issue-in-Marvel-Spider-Man-2-with/m-p/1662748

1. Is the issue isolated to Marvel's Spider-Man 2?

Yes

2. Was this working fine before?

No

3. Which digital gaming platform are you using (Steam, Epic games, etc.)?

Steam

You will find SSO file down below .

Also I want to mention that this issue happened with Marvel Spider-Man 1 (2022) and Marvel's Spider-Man: Miles Morales (2022) and got fixed later by driver update.

The minimum GPU requirement for these two games was NVIDIA GeForce GTX 950 which outperform the intel iris xe by +80% at least https://gpu.userbenchmark.com/Compare/Nvidia-GTX-950-vs-Intel-Iris-Xe/3510vsm1268515  but it worked for me and many others.

For the new game the minimum requirement is NVIDIA GeForce GTX 1650 but it works on NVIDIA GT 1030 2GB (proof : https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=OvCl1oyn-9g ), which intel iris xe outperforms it by 44 % https://technical.city/en/video/Iris-Xe-Graphics-G7-96EUs-vs-GeForce-GT-1030

Finally I would greatly appreciate it if you could investigate this issue and provide a driver update to resolve the black screen problem as soon as possible.

Thank you for your attention to this matter.

Best Regards,

Hello AlexMundoo,

Thank you for patiently waiting.

Unfortunately, game developer restricted this game from using on lower performing GPUs.

Popup message on screenshot inform user that GPU is not supported, pointing to Iris Xe.

Minimum required GPU is NVIDIA GeForce GTX 1650 or AMD Radeon RX 5500 XT - GPUs with 4GB of VRAM.

Amount of VRAM may not be the only limiting feature to run game on Iris Xe.

well, no they didn't restrict the use of lower end GPUs.

because you can see the game being played in the YouTube video that Alex shared, the issue isn't that the game won't run. and it's not a performance issue. I can play the whole game just fine if I didn't mind the black/red screen.

the problem is that the game is not being rendered properly.

it's the same issue that happened to the last two spiderman games which you guys fixed.

and the last two games didn't meet the GPU requirement just like this game, so this is clearly a driver issue that you guys can fix.

What you mean? The unofficial PC port even ran better. You just gave an excuse but this is clearly a driver issue. It is literally fixable. And you guys are not even trying. I can't believe a 3 years old game can't run. And customer support gives such frustrating reply. No wonder people switching to AMD.
