Black screen after installing 8.15.10.2086

Add me to the list of people who get a black screen....

HP G60t-200CTO

Windows 7 64 bit.

I uninstalled the previous intel driver (8.15.10.1986) and installed 8.15.10.2086.. and got a black screan... grrr... Other older intel drivers have worked just fine so I don't agree that it's a special vendor bios issue.

I just tested the Drivers from Robert. I do not get a black screen directly.

First the resolution will be set to 1024*768, but at least I still have a picture.

If I change the resolution to 1920*1080 in Windows I get the black screen right away.

But If I change it in the Intel Settings it seem to work.

Robert: this is really strange and I still think the you have some serious issues with the latest drivers and this chipset.

Could you please check further and provide your response?

thanks

Hello, I also have this vexing issue. No matter what driver version I have tried (the latest from Gigabyte (GA-Z68A-D3H-B3) and the suggested Intel generic here), the drivers install fine no matter what monitor connection I use but upon reset, I get to the welcome animation and then it goes dark, no signal on the DVI. VGA has a perfect signal, no crashes or BSODS no matter what, it is just outputting on the wrong cable. I can even connect both at the same time and switch between them, VGA is fine (at native res) and DVI is no signal. I am using the HD3000 on the 2600k. Anyway to fix this? Thanks!

Only way to fix this seems to be to continue to nag Intel about it.

It's been months and they still can't get it working properly.

Maybe it's time for class-action lawsuit to force them to actually put in more resources into fixing the issues.

Intel also needs to force the mobo manufacturers to actually release new BIOS with updated VBIOS as that seems to be a requirement to get things working properly as well.

And maybe hire some competent driver developers...

thanks for the links Terry, I'll try it again this evening.

I got the feeling that the latest drivers set the onboard VGA Port as default. I try to test this.

I assume this issue happens only if you use the onboard graphic ports or does anybody have a graphic card installed and have the black screen?

regards

Hi, Siracher Not only the latest driver has this problem, I tried many versions of the driver. All of them have the same problem. Did you try the HDMI port? My lcd does not have a HDMI port, so I can't try it. Thanks.

Hi, I had no time yesterday to make further tests, but should find a spot this weekend.

I have connected it previously to my TV (has a HDMI and VGA port).

with the current Asus Driver it works fine via HDMI. I also have a cable with a DVI/HDMI connector and it also works there.

With the latest Intel drivers (or the ones from windows 7 update) both HDMI and DVI do not work anymore, but VGA does!

What I want to test now: I install the latest intel drivers, connect the PC through VGA with my TV and check if VGA is set as default and try to switch this then to HDMI or DVI.

I still do not know if this is a common issue or if this is only the case with a certain hardware configuration. Does anybody have some more info on this possibility?

cheers

I tried the latest intel driver again, this is the result

VGA - It works fine in windows and during POST. HDMI(to DVI) - It works fine in windows, but it shows black screen during POST. DVI - It works fine during POST, but it shows black screen in windows(LCD enter the standby mode, and windows can't detect the lcd). I want to use the DVI port!

Count me in as well... Gigabyte motherboard, fully up-to-date with bios and drivers. My display works fine on VGA, but DVI only works when you're not in windows.

Intel, fix this!

I'm experiencing the same thing with an Intel DQ67SW motherboard. The problem lies in Intels drivers. I have tried multiple versions of these drivers and they ALL have the same problem!

Fresh Windows 7 Pro 64bit install and as soon as I install the Intel drivers, upon reboot I get the Windows splash screen and then blank.

If I then use a DVI->VGA adapter I can get the primary monitor to work. It never detects the second monitor.

Using the generic Microsoft driver it detects the second screen, but just mirrors the signal since it does not support multiple displays.

Intel customers have been experiencing problems with your crappy drivers for months now. Please stop ignoring us and fix it!!!

After experiencing the same problem and reading your posts, I came up with an easy solution.

Note: DO THIS AT YOUR OWN RISK! I CAN NOT BE HELD RESPONSIBLE FOR ANY DAMAGE THIS MIGHT CAUSE TO YOUR EQUIPMENT!

This said, let's get to how I was able to solve this issue:

- If possible, connect both cables into your monitor. (or use two monitors)

- Boot with the working interface (in my case it was the VGA-Port) (If you use two monitors: plug in the one first, that you DON'T want to use later on.)

- Plug the according cable into the interface that doesn't work (in my case the DVI-Port) (Or connect now the monitor you want to normally use.)

- After Windows detected the monitor, plug-out the obsolete cable (or monitor).

- Finished!

I hope that helps you too!

Same problem encountered with a Gigabyte motherboard using Intel Chipsets. After installing the drivers supplied with the motherboard, HDMI has no output after Windows startup. Have to use VGA.

Same for me....

It has to be gooned configuration for the HDMI output,

When it worked for me the settings where mailto:1080px32bit@59Hz 1080p x 32bit @ 59Hz I'm trying to find out how to understand and edit the HEX values for HDMI output in the registry back tho this setting.

The graphics processor works fine so does the motherboard, simply returning this device is not the answer and would cost Intel and Zotac money that does not need to be spent. It will also cost me time and money to post, as well as carbon that does not need to be thrown into the atmosphere.......

Is it possible to escalate this call to someone who knows how to modify the registry settings for the HDMI output so i can put it back to 59Hz refresh (the last known good configuration) i think i know where they are but settings are in HEX format so i want some guidance to change them back to 1080p@59Hz

with 32Bit colour.

I'm unable to change this with DVI or through Remote Desktop Protocol via the Intel graphics driver software because the driver software displays only configuration settings for the current output.

I will be able to fix this problem if I format my computer, but I have done this many times for this exact problem. So this tells me the uninstallation program Intel included with its graphics driver does not remove all traces of the driver - leaving some reference to the incompatible settings for the HDMI output.

So to save everyone time and money I would like to fix the source of the problem, the driver configuration for HDMI output in the registry.

Thank you.

Hello Mr. Mattews,

Thank you for contacting Intel Technical Support.

At this point it could be a problem with the HDMI port located in the motherboard, or the graphics controller located in the Processor.

My recommendation is to replace the motherboard first, and if the issue persist replace the Processor with place of purchase, or you can do it with us as well.

Sincerely,

Michael U.

RE: {ticketno:[8000287003]} - Your Intel Customer Support Inquiry

Hi Micheal,

I have tried the application in programs and features but this does not solve my problem.

I have tried other cables and this cable in other devices, also this pc with other Televisions the screen out put the bios graphics fine and also the windows boot splash graphic, but as soon as it loads the driver the screen turns black and stays that way.

When it was working with the TV, I tried to plug it into my Yamaha receiver but it looks like the signal is not proper HDMI because my receiver will illuminate text 'hdmi' when my Xbox, ps3 or bluray player is plugged into that port so I left it plugged into the TV and updated the latest driver from Intel and changed the setting for refresh rate this brought up a message asking to keep the settings, I could see it so I said yes, after I restarted the computer there was no picture....

So I uninstalled the application with programs and features, and installed the original driver package. This did not solve the problem so I uninstalled that and installed the new one, then tried uninstalling it through device manager. After which I installed the older one still no effect......

My bios...
