Bug in Intel Arc graphics impacting Windows Night Light

Recently we've taken delivery of hundreds of Intel laptops with the newer Intel Arc graphics and noticed that if you enable Windows Night Light, it makes the laptop almost unusable to certain users because of the weird color artifacting. We also have AMD counterparts of the same model and those don't have an issue. The older Intel's also don't have this issue. It's just any laptop with the newer intel arc graphics. What happens is that when you turn on the windows night light, everything turns pink and purple instead of properly adjusting the blues (all monitors, including the laptop display). No setting adjustments in the Intel Graphics Control panel help with the situation. Can Intel please do some testing and confirm this is a bug? All drivers and bios are up to date.

Someone reported this on the Microsoft forums, with no resolution: Night Light turns grey colors to pink and blue colors to purple on Windows 11 - Microsoft Q&A

Hi SupportSpecialist,

Thank you for bringing this Intel Arc graphics issue with Windows Night Light to our attention. I understand how concerning this must be when you've deployed hundreds of laptops and are experiencing this color artifacting issue that's making systems nearly unusable for certain users.

The symptoms you're describing - where Windows Night Light causes everything to turn pink and purple instead of properly filtering blue light - is indeed unusual behavior and shouldn't be occurring with properly functioning graphics drivers. The fact that this issue is isolated to newer Intel Arc graphics systems while AMD counterparts and older Intel graphics work correctly suggests this is likely a driver compatibility issue with the Windows Night Light feature.

I appreciate you providing the reference to the Microsoft forums discussion, as this helps confirm that other users are experiencing similar issues. Since you're reporting this on behalf of an organization with multiple affected systems, would you prefer to continue this discussion via private email rather than the public forum?

Please let me know if you'd like me to contact you directly via email to discuss this Intel Arc graphics issue further and coordinate a more detailed investigation.

Best regards,
