I have an older Dell Dimension 2400 with an Intel 82845G/GL/GE/PE/GV Graphics Controller. I'd like to use this computer to participate in 2nd Life. Is this controller integrated into the motherboard and/or is it possible to A.) Upgrade this device to the Intel 945G; OR B.) Install an Nvidia Card in an available slot and disable the Intel controller, OR C.) Any additional upgrade suggestions are appreciated.
That was one part of my question. I have two open slots and could install a 3rd party graphics card (I'm partial to NVidia), but if I do that, how do I bypass or disable the integrated Intel Controller?
