Can Intel® UHD Graphics 770 Integrated graphics output a single 4k120hz?

I'm looking to getting a N100 processor-based miniPC. The cpus were released Q1 2023.

The spec sheet says maximum resolution is 4K60hz * 3 (three outputs)

4K Support -Yes, at 60Hz
Graphics Output eDP 1.4b, DP 1.4, HDMI 2.1, MIPI-DSI 1.3

Max Resolution (HDMI)‡4096 x 2160@60Hz
Max Resolution (DP)‡4096 x 2160@60Hz
# of Displays Supported ‡3

I know that 4k120hz requires bandwidth 25.82Gbit/s so I need to use HDMI 2.1 (42.6 Gbit/s) or DP 1.4 (25.92Gbit/s) cables.

If I only use 1 output instead of all 3, will the iGPU be powerful enough to output the maximum supported output of my connected TV (4k120)?

There is a similar question but they're asking about lower res (2k) higher refresh (144hz) for UHD 550 -- and it worked great. So I assume it will work.

Looking for conformation. Thanks

The miniPC I bought finally arrived and after testing, Success!

Contrary to the official reply above:

the Intel® UHD Graphics 770 Integrated graphics inside a 12TH Intel Alderlake-N N100 CPU

CAN INDEED output at 4k120hz via the DisplayPort 1.4 output.

My use case:

  1. SIMODEWA MiniPC DP 1.4 outputting @ 4k120
  2. Cable used is ULT-WIIQ 8K@60Hz DisplayPort to HDMI Adapter via Amazon UK £28
  3. HDMI 2.1 converted output end goes into LG TV

If you'd buy an Intel NUC with Iris Xe then you can get 4K @ 120 Hz with an active USB-C/Thunderbolt > HDMI cable.

Hello anotherdev,

Thank you for posting in the Intel Communities. To better answer your question about the support for 4k120hz when using the Intel® UHD Graphics (Intel® Processor N100), we would like to look into this matter internally. We will post back as soon as we have further details.

Best regards,

Hello anotherdev,

Thank you for your patience. Based on the processor specifications, the maximum resolution is 4K@60Hz. In case you prefer to have a 120Hz refresh rate, then the resolution must be lowered according to supported resolutions and refresh rate in preferences.

Best regards,

That's a positive surprise!

The specs suggested that N100 couldn't do that. Thank you for the feedback, very interesting.
By the way: The ULT-WIIQ 8K@60Hz DisplayPort to HDMI Adapter contains the Synaptics VMM7100 protocol converter. This is the most stable solution so far.
