Can't get full RGB with Intel HD 3000 connected to TV via HDMI

Hello,

When I connect my Samsung TV to my Laptop via HDMI I get really poor visual quality. I looked this up and found a discussion where an intel employee responded that the issue was solved for newer models; however, I have not been able to find a work around. I didn't have this problem with my previous laptop where HDMI was controlled by Nvidia. The VGA port of this laptop is controlled by Nvidia and when I use this port I can get a smooth image but I would like to use the sound system of the TV as well.

Regards,

Çağatay

Either graphics controller can use any of the ports at a given moment.

As per /message/230911# 230911 https://communities.intel.com/message/230911# 230911 "Full Range RGB is not available for previous generations of Intel® HD Graphics products, including 2nd Generation Intel® Core™ Processors with HD Graphics and earlier".
