Hi
Does anyone know what became of the following article;
http://www.intel.com/support/graphics/sb/CS-003994.htm http://www.intel.com/support/graphics/sb/CS-003994.htm
I'm having issues within DirectX where the DirectDraw feature is greyed out and Not Available with an Intel(R) 4 Series Internal Chipset graphics driver.
From a bit of digging around it seems the above article may hold all the clues?
Thanks
Kind regards
Andrew Evans

Hi ANDREW99,
I am sorry but I need to confirm, are you having issues with the DirectDraw feature? Where are you trying to enable it?

I've looked into it a little further, and though the following post was in regard to DirectX 8.1, and though the solution seems strange, having to do with Netmeeting, the symptoms are similar to what you're describing, so I think it's worth a look. This is from a post on the Computing.net tech support forum: http://www.computing.net/drivers/wwwboard/forum/1646.html http://www.computing.net/drivers/wwwboard/forum/1646.html Keep me posted...

Thanks guys for the replies.
Where I am trying to enable DirectDraw Acceleration which is currently set as Not Available, is on the [Display] tab of DXDIAG.
A little further information for you, I don't have problems on Windows 7 PCs and after a little more testing it seems linked to ProxyHost our remote Host software? Please see following article;
http://service1.symantec.com/SUPPORT/on-technology.nsf/293a5302ae81e39288256ebb0049cfe7/ccdf30eba89899af88256e5f0078b632?OpenDocument http://service1.symantec.com/SUPPORT/on-technology.nsf/293a5302ae81e39288256ebb0049cfe7/ccdf30eba89899af88256e5f0078b632?OpenDocument
Perhaps such facts are alluded to in the following missing article

Kind regards

Hi ANDREW99,
From our side we can provide the latest graphics driver for your controller at the following link:
https://downloadcenter.intel.com/SearchResult.aspx?lang=eng&ProductFamily=Graphics&ProductLine=Laptop+graphics+drivers&ProductProduct=Mobile+Intel%C2%AE+4+Series+Express+Chipset+Family&ProdId=2991&LineId=1101&FamilyId=39 https://downloadcenter.intel.com/SearchResult.aspx?lang=eng&ProductFamily=Graphics&ProductLine=Laptop+graphics+drivers&ProductProduct=Mobile+Intel%C2%AE+4+Series+Express+Chipset+Family&ProdId=2991&LineId=1101&FamilyId=39
This DirectDraw is a subcomponent of DirectX and this feature is a Microsoft Feature. My recommendation is to update the graphics driver and the DirectX in your system or contact Microsoft so they can help you with the support on this feature.
