How can I hard-code the monitor resolution so changes in production do not result in changing the screen resolution if the monitor supports a higher resolution? Is there documentation of what the registry settings do?

Hello,
The way how the video controller works is using the EDID of the video display connected, so they display driver will be always looking for the EDID of the display.
From our side we do not recommend editing the system registry since this may compromise the operating system itself. We suggest you to check with your system manufacturer or Original Equipment Manufacturer to see if there is a way to set a fixed value on your computer.

Are there registry values or a programatic method to set the screen resolution on the Intel GMA 4500 graphic chipset. The PC is a DELL Optiplex XE desktop.

We do not provide the option to set a fixed value through our generic drivers.
You could check with your Original Equipment Manufacturer to see if there is an available option on the drivers they provide for your computer.
