Does Intel UHD 620 Graphics processor support HEVC decoding?

Dear Intel GPU community

i have  Intel UHD 620 Graphics processor and according to the specification this type of GPU does support HEVC decoding.

However, a list of supported decoders supplied by DXVA2 utility GetDecoderDeviceGuids does not contain HEVC decoder GUID (5b11d51b😞

GUID ee27417f - mpeg2 decoder

 GUID bf22ad00  - mpeg2 decoder

 GUID e07ec519  VC-1 variable-length decoder 2 (not mentioned in dxva2api.h file )

 GUID bcc5db6d   VC-1 variable-length decoder (not mentioned in dxva2api.h file )

 GUID 1b81bea4 - vc1 decoder

 GUID 1b81be68  - h264 decoder

 GUID d79be8da - H264_VLD_Stereo_Progressive_NoFGT

 GUID f9aaccbb  - h264 stereo

 GUID 705b9d82 - h264 multiview

 GUID 91cd2d6e unknown

 GUID 90b899ea  unknown

 GUID 442b942a unknown

 GUID 8c56eb1e  unknown

 GUID 75fc75f7    unknown

 GUID 463707f8   vp9

 GUID a4c749ef    unknown

 GUID 76988a52  unknown

 GUID 80a3a7bd  unknown

 GUID a74ccae2    unknown

 GUID 1b81be94 - WMV-9 decoder

 GUID 1b81bea2 - vc1 decoder (mode C)

 GUID 49761bec - unknown

Therefore i am suspicious whether Intel UHD 620 GPU support HEVC decoding?

In addition, in the above list there are unknown decoders (i.e. not mentioned in https://gix.github.io/media-types/ ).

Let remind that my GPU is UHD 620. How can I depict GPU model? From device manager I only found the following info on my GPU: PCI\VEN_8086&DEV_5917&SUBSYS_07E61028&REV_07 PCI\VEN_8086&DEV_5917&SUBSYS_07E61028 PCI\VEN_8086&DEV_5917&CC_030000 PCI\VEN_8086&DEV_5917&CC_0300

Hello SRiab, Thank you for your response. I was reviewing the information and the specifications of your processor and in fact it should support HEVC decoding, you can check the information in the link below: https://www.intel.com/content/dam/www/public/us/en/documents/datasheets/7th-gen-core-family-mobile-u... On page 29 you will find the hardware accelerated video decode. Now, I would like to know if you have actually had problems when trying to decode this or is it just shown in the report that lists the supported decoders you generated? Does this happen in every software that asks for a decoder or only one? If possible, please let me know the software you have used to check that. Thanks David

Frankly speaking, upon restarting my laptop DirectX succeeds recognizing hevc hw:

found hw support: guid[5b11d51b-2f4c-4452-bcc3-09f2a1160cc0]

hw acceleration enabled - decoder[H265] format[NV12]

Have you a test program to decode hevc-stream?

Hello SRiab, Thank you for your response. We do not have a software like this, nevertheless, you can try looking for a third-party one and check. I am really glad to know that DirectX now recognizes the HEVC. I will proceed to close this request, if you need any more assistance let me know.
