Driver Installation Fails

Hi, I recently tried updating to the latest beta driver (4090) from 4032 WHQL. The installation failed giving me the error shown in the image. After uninstalling the driver using DDU I tried to reinstall 4032 but now this one shows the same error.

I tried to disable/enable SVM and re-bar in my bios, and to install it from both Intel's driver utility & directly downloading the driver from the website, but without any success unfortunatly. Screenshot 2023-01-28 201312.png

Thank you for posting on the Intel Communities. I am sorry to hear that you are facing issues when trying to install the graphics drivers. Please let's try the following:


  • Reseat the GPU on the PCI slot and make sure all cables are properly connected1
  • Reset your Bios to default settings.
  • Try a clean installation of the drivers following the instructions in this article.


If the issue persists, please let us know the following information:


  • Does the issue happen in the middle of the installation? Or do you get the error message right after clicking the install button?
  • Please run the Intel® System Support Utility and attach the log file.

Hi Hugo,

 

Thank you for your time. I've managed to resolve the issue by running the drivers executable using administrator privileges. I was worried about future updates and whether it would break again, however I just received a new update and it's still working.

The issue happened in the middle of my installation right before/after it was trying to install the control panel. Resetting bios or enabling SVM didn't work. Also I didn't try to reseat / recable my GPU since it looks to be fine, and had been working fine before, so I'm pretty sure it's software related.

I am glad that you were able to resolve the issue. The installation of the  Intel® Arc™ Control does require administrator privileges, so it makes sense that this worked for you. Please check the following article for more information:
