Driver update causes flickering screen on Asus Vivobook with intel Iris graphics card.

I downloaded the updates this morning and one of them updated my video card drivers.  I had this issue before but the last update you put up prior to this one solved the issue.  Just an FYI, the screen flickering is back in the new driver.  Game I am seeing the issue is Everquest 2.

What is the specific model of the laptop?

Is this a new computer?

When did you purchase it?

Did you make any recent hardware/software changes, besides installing the update, that might cause this issue?

Is there any particular reason why you install the update?

Does the problem only happen with Everquest 2 or with all the games?

Which Windows* version are you using?

Does the problem happen at home or in the work environment?

Please attach the SSU report so we can verify further details about the components in your platform, check all the options in the report including the one that says "3rd party software logs":

Accroding to the information shown in the SSU document, the graphics driver currently installed on your computer is 27.20.100.9749.

 

It is important to mention that we always recommend to install the graphics driver provided by the manufacturer of the computer, since that driver was customized by them to work with your specific platform.

 

I looked on ASUS website and I was not able to find the exact model of your laptop, VivoBook_ASUSLaptop X712EA_K712EA. Still, I found a similar one, and actually, the latest graphics driver version they have available is V27.20.100.8681. Please try a clean installation of that driver following the instructions in the links below:

If the problem with the flickering screen remains, even though the Intel® graphics drivers are generic, for testing purposes, you can try a clean installation this time of our latest driver version 30.0.101.1994. Is this the driver version you are referring to as the one that fixed the issue before?

When the screen flickering started, directly after the reboot from the installation of the new driver, I chose to use the driver callback feature to reinstall the older driver that did not have the flicker problem.  I will keep an eye out for the next driver update and check it out to see if the flicker problem returns.  I'm keeping the out of date driver in the mean time.  Thanks for your reply and investigation.
