I am having the same issue as in this post

So, am I to believe that not all devices or driver versions allow you to access the "customer aspect ratios" features in Intel HD Control Panel. I had a similar feature on my other laptop with Graphics and Media Control Panel. I've tried every resolution, and everyone is either too tall or too wide. I need some customer scaling options. I'm on my large screen Samsung with a native resolution of 1920 x 1080 through HDMI. I already tried updating the drivers as well. So, what's the deal?

Hello Sonic98,

I understand you are trying to get the "Customized Aspect Ratio" option on the Intel Graphics Control Panel.

Let me apologize for any inconvenience this issue may be causing to you.

I would like you to try updating the graphics driver. Please download latest graphics driver from this link https://downloadmirror.intel.com/26228/eng/win64_154028.4501.zip https://downloadmirror.intel.com/26228/eng/win64_154028.4501.zip

As soon as the driver has been downloaded install it using the steps that are on this YouTube video https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=S1KzoQDjMMY https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=S1KzoQDjMMY

The "Customize Aspect Ratio" option will not be available on every single screen resolution you select. Please try different screen resolutions and check which one gives you that option.

The content on the above site is not controlled by Intel. This information is offered for your convenience and should not be viewed as an endorsement by Intel for the merchants or services offered there.

Let me know if issue persists or not.

Looks like my post has triple posted, but no this has not fixed my issue. My driver is all the way update, and I still can't get the custom or customize aspect ratio option. I even tried setting it to have my external device being the only display.

Hello Sonic98,

There is a chance ASUS* may have disabled Scaling options in your specific computer model.

Please let me know if you have the monitor working on Single Display or Extended Desktop or Clone Mode.

Let me also know the model number of the Samsung* monitor.

Of course it's still not working, an ASUS claims they've done nothing to the hardware. I'm think I might just need to get a non-ASUS laptop with a non-Intel adapter in it. I've tried setting it to only output to external. I've tried removing the old driver first. I've tried updating as far as it will go. IS there some type of driver clean up utility. What's my next option?

It's still not working. I tried all 3 modes. It's connected to a Samsung HLT-5089SX, but I have the same issue with a Panasonic device.

Hello Sonic98,

Have you tried changing the screen size on the settings of the TV?

I would like you to try the steps that are on pages 30 and 67 on this document http://downloadcenter.samsung.com/content/UM/201104/20110427141252756/BP68-00628B-01L03_110427.pdf http://downloadcenter.samsung.com/content/UM/201104/20110427141252756/BP68-00628B-01L03_110427.pdf

Yes, I tried changing the settings on the TV. I changed it from 16:9 to Just Scan, and it's almost like I want it. But I still shouldn't have to resort to that. Putting it on Just Scan, it's it almost where I want it

I tried moving it to HDMI3 from HDMI1, and it's actually almost a perfect picture. Looks almost like when I have it connected through VGA. I'm going to look up manual for my Panasonic TC-L32X2 and see if there is a similar fix
