Hello.

I'm trying to connect my laptop to a External 4k monitor via HDMI 2.0 but i cant get the 60Hz and the image is not good.

Mi computer is a Dell Vostro 5490

Intel(R) Core(TM) i5-10210U CPU @ 1.60GHz 2.11 GHz

Windows 11 Pro 22H2

Intel Graphics driver version: 27.20.100.9664

Does the proccesor supports 4k resolution? i have to connect via DisplayPort?

Thanks in advance!

According to Dell's specifications, the HDMI port [2] of this laptop is version 1.4 which is the native capability of the Comet Lake architecture. This is not sufficient for 4K @ 60 Hz.

The USB-C port [4] is tunneling a DisplayPort signal. If Dell didn't customize the native capabilities of Intel Integrated Graphics this connector should be compliant with the DisplayPort 1.2 specification (4K @ 60 Hz).

To clear all doubts and avoid bad purchases of adapters/cables, you should contact Dell Support so they can tell you which products are compatible with this laptop and which graphics driver you need to use.
