FPS down in 2 week.....................HELP PLS

Hello guys. I have an gaming configuration by three years maded to run games at fullHD at 60fps, but about 10 days ago that games that previously run on 60fps or even more now are fixed more or less on 22/24, thinking they were the drivers I tried to uninstall with ddu and reinstall from the beginning but nothing. I formatted the operating system thinking it was corrupt and uninstalled antivirus thinking bottleneck but nothing... I know what to do tests further and I do not know how to test a possible hardware problem of the gpu or cpu / ram ...

Configuration:

Intel I7 6600k CPU

Mobo MSI M5 Z170A

GTX970 CPU

8GB RAM Corsair LPX

SSD 250GB

HDD 1T

I test everything

This is an test with hwinfo opened in the backgruond and 3DBenchmark running.

post you the info and the images:

- HWinfo screenshots:

as you can see the problem is the CPU that is the bottleneck but

I not understand why?! this configuration was designed with this CPU and that has never given problems (sofps ultra setting).

I also tried to remove the CMOS battery from the mobo for a possible reset of the BIOD, but nothing.

I post an image of test in gameplay

there are no hopes.

if the CPU is irrecoverable, I change its and stop. I think it is useless to continue to do other tests ....

what do you think?

Hello Numhas

Thank you for joining the community.

I see that you are having problems with the FPS while gaming, allow me to help you with the inquiries.

Could you let me know if there was any software change prior issue?

In order to help you better, I would like to gather more information about the configuration you have on the computer. Please attach to this thread the TXT file the Intel® System Support Utility will generate: https://downloadcenter.intel.com/download/25293/Intel-System-Support-Utility https://downloadcenter.intel.com/download/25293/Intel-System-Support-Utility

Steps to save the report:
  1. Run the utility.
  2. Click on "Scan" to get the scanned system.
  3. Once the scan is complete click on "next".
  4. Use the "save" option, save the report to your desktop.
  5. To attach a file, you must click the "Attach" option on the bottom right-hand corner of the response box.

Could you also run the Intel® processor diagnostic tool? Please provide me with the .txt file report.

Hello Numhas

Thank you for your response.

Looking into the Intel® processor diagnostic tool I noticed that the processor is not reporting any failure at the moment, also, on the Intel® System Support Utility for Windows* report I see that your system is running with the NVIDIA® graphics only. I would like to know if you made any changes to the system configuration before the FPS drop on the system. Did you update BIOS of software or any changes on BIOS setting?

Best Regards,

Leonardo C.

OK this is a nigthmare

I tried to enable Game Boost and CPU go up to 4.10Mhz apparently unblocking

so I deactivated the Game Boost and CPU returned normal with the normal base speed

but I did not see any more devices like hard disks .... then I did the default settings restore but taking the photo of what was going to change.....here:

now all the peripherals start (probably for UEFI ---> Legacy + UEFI) but the CPU is back to 0.80 ..... this is a REAL nigthmare

Hello Numhas

Thank you for your response.

Looking into your Intel® processor diagnostic tool report I see that the CPU detected Frequency is 3.50389 GHz and the temperature in on range from 20C to 30C seems that the unit is working under the specifications (https://ark.intel.com/products/88191/Intel-Core-i5-6600K-Processor-6M-Cache-up-to-3_90-GHz https://ark.intel.com/products/88191/Intel-Core-i5-6600K-Processor-6M-Cache-up-to-3_90-GHz).

For testing purposes have you tried to run the system using only the integrated graphics? You could remove the discrete graphics unit, complete the necessary graphics driver updates and test the system while running the game.

Since your system is currently running only with the discrete graphics I would recommend contacting the NVIDIA® for updates to their unit, also recommend testing the discrete GPU to rule out any possible damage on the unit.

I honestly do not think it's the GPU. I think there is a problem with the BIOS or with the MOBO.......

Hello Numhas

Thank you for your response.

In case you think that this situation is related to the BIOS/motherboard I will recommend contacting MSI* for assistance to review the hardware.

Hello Numhas

Thank you for your response.

I understand that processor reporting 0.8 GHz on each core, am I correct? With this frequency seems that the unit is working on low power mode this may be coming for a BIOS/motherboard setting.

Ok I throw in the towel .... I do not understand any more. Today I order the new mobo and so randomly tonight back up the clock of the cpu .... Completely case I did not do anything....

One characteristic thing is that the debug led of the Mobo that gives me the values of degrees of the CPU leaps from 32 to 45 within a few seconds and bounces between various temperatures within this range

Hello Numhas

Thank you for your response.

I would recommend running the Intel® Extreme Tuning Utility tool (https://downloadcenter.intel.com/download/24075/Intel-Extreme-Tuning-Utility-Intel-XTU- https://downloadcenter.intel.com/download/24075/Intel-Extreme-Tuning-Utility-Intel-XTU-) that knows how to read the processor behavior to monitor the processor, you could also run the CPU stress test to the unit, please provide me with the frequency that is reached during the testing.

Leonardo C.
