Feature Request: Virtual Super Resolution (VSR / DSR) for Intel Arc GPUs

Please add a built-in downsampling feature (similar to AMD VSR or Nvidia DSR) directly into Intel

graphics software. As an Arc B580 user on a 1080p monitor, many older or stylized games suffer

from heavy specular shimmering that standard anti-aliasing cannot fix. Having a simple toggle in

Intel graphics software to expose higher container resolutions (like 1440p and 4K) to Windows

would allow the GPU to handle downscaling natively. This is a critical missing feature for users who

want to eliminate aliasing without relying on risky third-party tools like CRU.

Best regards

An Intel Arc B580 User

Hi saad4,

Thank you for posting in our Community, and for taking the time to put together such a detailed and well-thought-out suggestion.

Your request for a native downsampling feature in Intel Graphics Software similar to AMD's Virtual Super Resolution (VSR) and NVIDIA's Dynamic Super Resolution (DSR) is well understood. Rendering at a higher resolution and downscaling to a lower-resolution display is an effective way to reduce specular shimmering and aliasing artifacts that standard anti-aliasing methods often can't fully address, and it's a valid gap you've highlighted between Intel Arc software and competing ecosystems.

Your feedback has been documented and will be shared with the appropriate product team for consideration. I'm not able to provide updates on its status or timeline going forward, but I want you to know that this kind of specific, constructive input is genuinely useful to the teams working on Intel Graphics Software.

Thank you again for your continued support of Intel Arc.

Best Regards,

LohithG.
