Flickering textures on DirectX* 9 based PC games

Intel has reproduced a flickering textures issue with several different games and has started investigation (Bug ID 1405609824), so far it appears that it affects primarily games running on DirectX* 9 (i.e. older games). As more information becomes available I'll be updating this thread.

If you encounter a similar graphics glitch with your PC Game, feel free to post the details here.

So far this is the list of games that have been identified in the communities by users that present this flickering textures issue:

Halo 2*:

PC Game affected:

Gothic 3.

Problem:

- The trees are flickering and disappearing when you walk or move the camera (very frequently).

- Some random white polygons are flickering fast filling the whole screen (very rarely).

System:

- Windows 10 Pro (10.0.14393).

- 16 GB RAM DDR4.

- Intel 6700k (HD 530).

- Driver version: 21.20.16.4627.

- Video bios: 1046.0.

- Resolution: 2560x1440 @60 Hz DELL U2515H (single display).

How to reproduce:

1. Install Gothic 3 and the bundled Direct X 9 libraries.

2. Install the community patch v1.75.14: https://www.worldofgothic.de/dl/download_478.htm https://www.worldofgothic.de/dl/download_478.htm (Gothic_3_EE_Patch_v1.75.14_Int_Full.exe - 1.48 GB).

3. Start a new game (graphics settings do not matter).

4. Kill some orcs and then get out of the village, you can see the trees flickering, appearing and disappearing.

I can report that Gothic 3 bugs are still here (.4815).

Those bugs were reported some time ago and nothing changed at all.

Crysis grass flickering appears in DX10 too AND is camera angle-dependent.

I would like to let you know that the https://downloadcenter.intel.com/download/26772 new driver we released today (5/5/2017) does not have a fix for this issue.

However, rest assured that I am still tracking this issue and as soon as I have a substantial update from our dev team I'll update this thread.

i downloaded old version of intel and blocked windows 10 from updating the driver

and now problem fixed

i hope you fix new update and do some performance increase for cs go XD

Use the older version if you are using windows 10. It would download the update automatically, so better to turn it off and reinstall your driver.

This issue also occurs in Starcraft 2 when using driver 4624 on Haswell.

Side note: as kindly pointed out by Parapele, I tested Dreamfall: The Longest Journey* and still observe some shadows flickering (I'm pending to test Metro 2033*, Oddworld: Stranger's Wrath* and Turok 2 Seeds of Evil*).

After updating my intel graphics drivers to x.x.x.4703. CS:GO is flickering.

I also tried downgrading to 15.40.34.4624, 15.40.7.64.4279 and 15.40.4.64.4256.. but no success, flickering stills or fps went down from 120 to 40!

So i uninstalled Intel HD Graphics and let Windows search for it. Windows found a x.x.x.4444 and it works flawlessly on CS:GO.

Windows 10 x64

Intel HD Graphics 4400

i3-4130

8GB RAM

DVR -> OFF

@UPDATE

After restarting my computer, Windows Update has updated to x.x.x.4531 (29/09/2016) and it still works flawlessly on CS:GO.

For another DX9 flickering title you can check Need for Speed: Underground 2, it has flickering rain problem. Rain in game completely random so at first you never realise that something not right.

Spoiler: Crysis 2 has bug too... later i will make bug report.

If I have a problem with an online game called DarkMu this when connecting to the server, many of the options appear in transparencies I have a 7th generation Icore 3 with HD 630 graphics I have tried all possible configuration and I have not been able to fix the problem , but in my laptop with a third generation Icore 5 with HD 4000 graphics I do not have that problem could help me solve this problem

Is this game a variation of MU Online? If so, please check this other thread for reference: and preferably keep posting in that thread. This is for flickering issues while the issue you have is with the transparency of the HUD.
