Hi,
I have a notebook Asus n56jr with:
bios: 201 (N56JRH),
Windows 8.1 Update 1,
Intel HD Graphics 4600,
nVidia GTX 760m.
The problem is a flicker effect that occurs on dark backgrounds and lowering the brightness.
I have installed different versions of the Intel driver:
win64_153314.exe
win64_153318.exe
Asus VGA_Intel_Win81_64_VER1018103355
but the problem persists.
The problem reduces, but does not disappear, if I disable the UEFI bios.
Can anyone help me?
Thanks a lot,
blu

Hello Blu, I am sorry to hear that you are having issues with your system and the HD4600. I would suggest you to install the original driver provided by ASUS and check if the behavior persists or not.

You can also try our latest graphics driver provide at the following link. https://downloadcenter.intel.com/Detail_Desc.aspx?agr=Y&DwnldID=23714&lang=eng https://downloadcenter.intel.com/Detail_Desc.aspx?agr=Y&DwnldID=23714&lang=eng
Remember that our drivers are generic drivers and they are made for Intel Motherboards, but you can try it.

Hello sylvia_intel,
thanks for your help.
Unfortunately, the Intel driver and the Asus does not have solved the problem.
I also tried this way (without success).
I noticed that when I uninstall the Intel driver and leave the default to Windows:
Windows sets the refresh rate to 64hz.
When I install the Intel driver monitor refresh is set to 60hz.
The new Intel drivers have a feature that allows you to set a new profile with a custom refresh. Unfortunately only accepts 60hz. Higher or lower values not are allowed.
Thanks a lot,
blu

Blu, can try connecting an external monitor to the laptop in order to check if he behavior persists?
If the issue continues, it will be necessary to replace the computer. If it does not, you would need to use other driver version.
