G45 chipset, Windows 7 and Intel graphics utility

I have been running windows media centre/vista on a dg45id based mc system. I used the horizontal and vertical scaling to correctly fit the windows screen to my Sony (1080i) TV. Having uograded (?) to Windows 7, the scaling no longer seems to work, with the result that the windows screen no longer fits the TV dsiplay and Media centre shows a non linear display across the screen.

Changing the scaling in theutility has no effect and furthermore such changes are no longer retained if the utility is restarted.

I have tried driver versions 8.15.10.2202 and 2226.

Anyone got any ideas/experience please?
