Hello
I have a laptop with intel core i7-6500u (Intel HD Graphics 520)
in 2016 driver update, there are all the settings
but in 2017 and 2018 updates, gamma slider is missing from monitor color settings (for all monitors)
under contrast and brightness.. and I cannot live without it
Why exactly is it called an update? get less features?

Hello NHKomaiha,
Thank you for your response.
Some settings, such as gamma, were removed from the Intel® HD Graphics Control Panel because you can now adjust them through the operating system.
Please find the following link that may help you adjust this setting.

This is bad..
Windows does not support gamma correction for each color of the spectrum RGB... (1 slider)
But Intel control panel supports gamma for each color (3 sliders) (before update...)

Unfortunately, the windows gamma slider and intel's gamma slider don't work the same. The intel's gamma slider allows a much wider setting then windows'. This is essential with poor displays - for instance brand new, out of the box Lenovo V330 laptop has a display gamma about 1.2 which the windows slider brings up to about 1.8.
Additionally, the intel gamma slider allows individual color channels.
And, intel gamma slider is easier to access then that from windows. I mean - right click on the desktop and launch the intel control panel -> display -> colour settings.
Compare this to windows 10 home edition, you have to right click on the desktop -> display settings -> (search for) display advanced settings -> display adaptor properties -> colour management tab -> colour management button -> advanced tab -> and then (IF POLICIES ALLOWS) Calibrate display. Now, if you're not the admin for the machine and don't have admin rights - tough luck with that.

It was so convenient to just move gamma slider, and now what? Dig deep into system, proceed all stages of calibration, nonsense!
