I tested the GPU in a different system, and it works perfectly. Beyond that, I have already replaced both the CPU and the GPU with replacement parts, and I even swapped the motherboard for an ASUS PRIME A320M-K before switching back to my original one. I also tested the system using a single RAM stick in different slots, yet the issue persists. Despite clearing the CMOS, the problem remains. Therefore, the most likely cause is the PSU, as it is the only component in the system that hasn't been replaced. Thank you for helping me. I am just going to live with this issue for now, since the cause isn't my new GPU or CPU; I am fine with that.

Hi Lwood,

Thank you for posting in our Community. The issue appears after a restart, where there is no display output, but the system works again after a full shutdown, and you also experience occasional system freezes. This could be related to BIOS compatibility, power delivery, driver initialization, or display handshake behavior. To help us pinpoint the root cause, could you please confirm the following:

  • Which cable are you using (HDMI or DisplayPort)?
  • Are you connecting the cable directly to the GPU (not the motherboard)?
  • Have you tried a different cable or DisplayPort?
  • Which graphics driver version is currently installed for the B580?
  • Did you perform a clean driver installation (for example, using DDU before installing the new driver)?
  • Does the system fully power on during the restart (fans spinning, LEDs on)?
  • When the system freezes, does it happen during gaming, normal desktop use, or idle?

  • Does the system freeze completely, or can you still move the mouse or hear audio?
  • Which version of Windows are you running (Windows 10 or Windows 11)? Is the OS fully updated?

I apologize for the number of questions, but sometimes pinpointing the cause requires exploring various factors. Your cooperation in providing these details will greatly assist us in diagnosing and addressing the issue effectively.

Have a nice day!

Hello Lwood,

Thank you for your continued cooperation. To help me further analyze the issue and move toward a resolution, may I kindly ask for a short video recording that shows the behavior you are experiencing? Additionally, since your system does not have integrated graphics, if possible, could you please try installing the GPU in a known working system to see if the same behavior occurs? This will help me determine whether the issue is isolated to the GPU or related to the system configuration.

If you have access to a spare or known-good power supply, I would also appreciate it if you could test with that as well. This will help rule out any potential power-related concerns.

Best regards,

Hello Lwood,

Thank you very much for sharing such a detailed update and for thoroughly testing your system. You’ve done an excellent job isolating the issue, and your troubleshooting steps clearly demonstrate a strong understanding of the process. Based on everything you’ve outlined, especially confirming that the GPU works perfectly in another system and that the CPU, motherboard, and memory have all been tested or replaced, the power supply unit does stand out as the most likely remaining cause. Since the PSU is the only component that has not yet been swapped, reaching out to the PSU manufacturer for further diagnostics or a possible replacement would be the most appropriate next step. I completely understand your decision to live with the issue for now, and I appreciate your confirmation that your new GPU and CPU are not at fault. Should you decide to proceed with PSU testing or replacement in the future, the PSU manufacturer’s support team will be best equipped to assist you, especially if the unit is still under warranty.

In the meantime, I will now be closing this thread. I appreciate you again for your time, patience, and cooperation throughout this process.
