I have a Graphics Accelerator 500 on an Acer Aspire One 751h running Windows XP SP3. My problem is that when I adjust the brightness, the adjustment holds for about 15 seconds and then it goes back to the standard setting.
I have made sure I have the latest drivers installed. Is anyone else having this problem, and does anyone know a solution?
Not sure if it will help anyone else, but I figured out a solution. It appears if I kill or do not allow the "persistencethread.exe" process to run, the computer is able to maintain the screen brightness I choose w/ the brightness adjustment function keys on the netbook.
Also, just installed the latest driver released last week. It is version 188.8.131.522 of the Intel driver for Windows XP Pro. With it installed I do not have the stop the "persistencethread.exe." process.
