I am currently running Windows 8.1 on a HP9470 with 2 HP LA2405x monitors.
One is running off of VGA, the other on Display Port.
If I run the latest beta driver or the one off windows update it will only allow me to select 1920x1080 instead of the real resolution of 1920x1200 on VGA but the Display Port is correct. If I download the latest drivers from HP's site then it will change the resolution correctly but it completely tanks .Net and none of my other apps outside of Office will run.
Is there a way that I can force the display card to use the higher resolution?
Thanks,
TC

Hi OhReally,
Based on the information you provided, the maximum resolution you can get is 1920x1200. This is based on the monitor specifications. You can check it here: http://www8.hp.com/us/en/products/monitors/product-detail.html?oid=5272780# !tab=specs http://www8.hp.com/us/en/products/monitors/product-detail.html?oid=5272780# !tab=specs
The graphics controller on your computer is capable to get resolution up to 2560x1600 but using Display Port connection only but this also depends on the OEM manufacturer since they are able to set limitation in their systems.
My best recommendation is to contact the computer manufacturer and confirm with them the maximum resolution you computer can get and also confirm the max resolution that the monitor supports.

The computer and monitors work great under windows 8 using drivers off the HP site. It is the Windows 8.1 that is throwing everything off.
That is why I was wondering if there is a way to force the computer to use a resolution that isn't listed in control panel.
Thanks.

Do a windows search for CustomModeApp, you do custom resolution from there.

Hi OhReally,
You can try doing the CustomModeApp search and create the resolution from there but it is important to keep in mind that the drivers we have for 8.1 are still BETA drivers.

Hi
This issue is present in the lates drivers from both HP and Intel, and a CustomModeApp tweak does not work.

Hi galeithe,
What is the resolution you are trying to get? Can you post your dxdiag report here?

Hi Kevin,
I'm having a similar issue. I recently purchased a Lenovo Ultrabook and have a 23" Samsung moniter (that has worked perfectly for 2+ years). The monitor display is all whacked with the monitor's edges cut off. When will Intel fix this problem?
Thanks,
Andrew

HI ams007,
Sorry to hear you are having this problem but I will make my best to help you on this.
At this point I am not sure what is your graphics controller or what the driver version is but have you tried playing with the resolution settings in your computer while having connected the TV?
