HD 620: blue screen at HDMI cable plug in (driver problem)

Hello,

Sorry I posted bevore searching the forum seams there are already threads describing similar problems

/thread/119669 https://communities.intel.com/thread/119669

/thread/120927 https://communities.intel.com/thread/120927

But for non of them crashes Windows on cable plugin so it's not directly a duplicate.

I'm running Windows 10 on a Lenovo T470 with the HD620 as graphics card.

I get blue screens on pluging in a HDMI cable for all driver versions starting at 15.47.02.4815.

For all older versions this problem is not present.

I already posted this over at the microsoft forum https://answers.microsoft.com/en-us/windows/forum/windows_10-performance/bsod-when-pluging-in-a-hdmi-cabel-windows-10-intel/6c297775-7edb-4f2f-9105-47cc1b163381 https://answers.microsoft.com/en-us/windows/forum/windows_10-performance/bsod-when-pluging-in-a-hdmi-cabel-windows-10-intel/6c297775-7edb-4f2f-9105-47cc1b163381

I also started a thread in the lenovo forum asking for confirmation that this is not only hapening on my device

Hello berxue,

Thank you for joining the Graphics Community. I am sorry to hear you are having issues with this matter.

Have you tested the driver from your computer manufacturer?

Hello Amy,

yes of course.

With the current driver from lenovo I also get a blue screens as soon as I plugin the HDMI cable.

Or in case the pc is still powered down I get the blue screen during boot (before login screen).

As posted before all driver versions before 15.47.02.4815 work fine, so the problem should be in the changes to this version.

Update: I'll try the new driver (15.60.2.4901) and report back if it solved the problem

I am sorry hear that /thread/121061 berxue.

For testing purposes, is there any chance to try an operating system clean installation? One more thing, make sure that you are running the latest BIOS for your Lenovo: https://pcsupport.lenovo.com/cr/en/products/LAPTOPS-AND-NETBOOKS/THINKPAD-T-SERIES-LAPTOPS/THINKPAD-T470/downloads/DS119265 https://pcsupport.lenovo.com/cr/en/products/LAPTOPS-AND-NETBOOKS/THINKPAD-T-SERIES-LAPTOPS/THINKPAD-T470/downloads/DS119265
