HD 630 Resume From Standby Screen Flickering

Hi, I just updated my Kaby Lake i5-7600 HD 630 to latest graphics driver 15.46.2.1.64.4729

After resuming from sleep my screen just flashes and displays vertical lines. I can't see the desktop just the lines and flashing screen.

I have to power off the machine and reboot to get back into windows.

Seems to be an issue with the latest update as previous driver worked ok.

Hello everyone,

This issue should be fixed with driver https://downloadcenter.intel.com/download/27355 15.60.01.4877 . Note: Any user with 6th Generation graphics (Skylake) on Windows 7/8.1 please use driver https://downloadcenter.intel.com/download/27360 15.45.23.4860

If you still see this issue with the aforementioned driver, then I'll suggest creating a new thread using this format (feel free to reference this thread).

Every scenario is different and we could use the new data provided to determine why it is still affecting your system.

I'm locking this thread now since we have been receiving positive feedback on this latest driver.

Thank you all for your patience and assistance in resolving this issue.

Best Regards,

Ronald M.

@I have to report the same problem.

Driver Version: 22.20.16.4815 (154702.4815). Intel HD 530 Graphics.

Resume from suspend shows flickering screen. Also happened with inmmediate previous update I think. All other previous updates working fine. I had to revert to Windows 10 default 20.19.15.4463. Asus Bios updated and S3/S5 compliant (before and after).

I have a main HDMI RGB monitor as (2) and a secondary turned off DVI monitor as (1).

Have the same with Intel 530 on Asus Z170-A, newest bios.

It got worse on Windows 10 1709.

I had to downgrade intel driver to 21.20.16.4678.

I agree this was all I could do, ASRock is not updating their bios on 530 boards anymore and this has been an ongoing issue with Windows 10. One of the main reasons I dropped from the Windows 10 Insider Program. 21.20.16.4678 was one of the Intel updates that solved my issues before 1709 came out and in most cases the Windows provided drivers have been doing this for over a year now. Thanks Duckizm for reminding me to go back to that driver, I had downloaded it in June.

I'm having the same problem as the original OP after Creators update 1709. After trying different drivers it happens randomly infrequently.

  • Intel HD Graphics 510
  • Driver 21.20.16.4550
  • HDMI

Is there a FIX for this problem?

Hello Everyone,

Today we released a new driver baseline https://downloadcenter.intel.com/download/27266 [15.60].

This driver does not have any specific fix for this issue since we are still working on it [internal bug ID 1406489287]. However, since this is new driver code, I'll appreciate if you give this one a try and let me know if you still see the issue.

Obviously I'll update the existing bug with all your feedback on 15.60.

Thank you for your patience.

Kindest Regards,

Ronald M.

I still have the issue on my Lenovo Yoga 900 with 520. Why isn't this listed under "known issues" on the release notes?

did you try 15.60 (driver released today)? I have a Yoga 900 too so I dont want to try this one if it is now working.

Yes, the new one, last night, actually. Don't bother to try it on your Yoga.

Thanks for the new driver, but I'm a little concerned about trying it out until it comes out as part of a Win 10 update package. Even if it works, won't it just be obliterated by any new Win 10 update? There was also something in the ReadMe file (yes, I read the ReadMe) about it testing a new desktop theme. Can you please let us know when this is ready for prime time and will be added to Win 10 updates?

New driver version 15.60 works! That's great! But weird also, as you wrote that the devs still working on it...

Thanks for the driver update. 15.60 resolved the resume from standby screen corruption, without needing a BIOS update.

Fixed also on my system: desktop, Core i5 6500 on ASRock Z170 Extreme4.

Driver installer first installed without error, but driver version did not increase. Afterwards I found, that temp folder was too full. After cleaning temp, the installer worked correctly.

Registered to say thanks. 15.60 worked on my MSI Krait Gaming 3x Z170 (i7 6700k, 530).

I have tried the new driver on my Lenovo Thinkpad P50 computer, and it seems having solved the problem. However, when I use device manager to check the driver version information, I found the version number stops at 21.20.16.4550 (released on 11/11/2016). So, it didn't really solve the issue from the root as Ronald_Intel claimed. It works because the driver basically blocked codes from newer versions of drivers to install.

If you doubt my observation, please use device manager and check the Property of the Display Adaptor --> Intel Graphics adapter. You may find what I have observed.

It looks like 15.60 fixed the problem on Asus Z170-A.

Thanks!
