Hi,
I have a Dell Vostro 3450 laptop with onboard Intel HD 3000 graphics. The laptop's display is quite badly damaged so I'd like to completely disable the internal display and direct all graphical output through the D-sub port to an attached external monitor.
I've tried simply disconnecting the internal display's cable but the HD 3000's VBIOS default is set to the internal display so boot hangs at POST. Is it possible to edit the HD 3000's VBIOS settings to default to an external monitor?
Thanks!

Editing the Video BIOS might be possible, however this is related to the computer manufacturer or Original Equipment Manufacturer not the video controller (HD 3000).
In that case, you need to check with your computer or motherboard manufacturer directly for information on this
