System Description:

Samsung NP300E5E

Intel Core i3-3120M 2.5 GHz 64bit

Description of Issue:

Windows 10 1709 Creators Update disables graphics adapter and reports incompatibility with each of the following drivers:

HD Graphics 4000 10.18.10.4242 (6/16/2015)

HD Graphics 4000 10.18.10.4358 (12/21/2015) (worked prior to update)

HD Graphics 4000 10.18.10.4885 (12/11./2017)

The system initially loads to a blank screen after login and after a few restarts in reverts to Windows Basic Display Driver and loads the desktop but offers no additional graphics functionality including resolution options or multiple screen support.

This issue has been resolved. The system required a BIOS update from the laptop manufacturer. I had to run the BIOS update via Powershell to get around code execution settings but once that was done the 10.33.10.4276 original 8/2017 driver loaded without error and the external monitor was recognized and functioned normally. I was then able to update the display driver to the latest 10.33.10.4885 12/2017 version also without issue.
