HDMI Core I3 Poor Quality

Operating System:

Windows 7 -Adjsuted via Latest Intel Graphics Driver

Ubuntu 10.4 and 10.10 xorg Intel driver

Monitor/TV:

Sceptre x24 Great little TV sold by WallMart

Problem:

Windows 7 oversized display and reduction produces poor quality text via Intel drivers.

Ubuntu oversized and attempt to adjust modline fails

Any help would be appreciated.
