Good day

I am looking to purchase a Dell Inspiron 15 5502 11th Gen Intel Tiger Lake Core i7 with the Integrated Intel Iris Xe Graphics card.  But I need to know if it's possible for this specific model to output 1080i @50Hz  before I buy it.

Would greatly appreciate any feedback

ChurchTech, Thank you for posting in the Intel® Communities Support.

"But I need to know if it's possible for this specific model to output 1080i @50Hz before I buy it", In reference to your question, it is kind of difficult from our side to guarantee that the Dell laptop will support 1080i @50Hz. The reason for that is, just to let you know, that when you are using a laptop, everything is customized in there by the manufacturer of it, meaning they can disable/enable all the features and functions of the device as wee as all the BIOS settings. It will also depend on the monitor that you will work with, in the case you want to attach it as an external display, and if it is capable of supporting that resolution when being connected to the laptop.

The link below is from our official website, in there, depending on the model of the Intel® processor in the laptop, you will be able to verify the resolutions supported by the processor, As an example, I will use the Intel® Core™ i7-11850HE Processor, which is also Tiger Lake, and you will be able to see under the "Processor Graphics" tab, which are the max resolutions supported depending on the video port being used:

https://ark.intel.com/content/www/us/en/ark/products/217379/intel-core-i711850he-processor-24m-cache-up-to-4-70-ghz.html

  • Max Resolution (HDMI)‡4096x2304@60Hz
  • Max Resolution (DP)‡7680x4320@60Hz
  • Max Resolution (eDP - Integrated Flat Panel)‡4096x2304@60Hz

You can do the same with any Intel® processor model, to confirm the resolutions supported, you just need to enter the model of the processor in the search bar at the top right corner in order to see the specifications of it:

Still, we recommend to get in contact directly with Dell to confirm the specifications of the laptop, since they have the option to restrict or disable some of the features the Intel® processor has, most of the laptops also contain a graphics card as well that handles the graphics tasks of the system. So, it will be better to contact them to check on that and also to check if they have done some testings with a configuration similar to the one that you are planning to use or if they suggest a specific monitor to use in order to get the resolution that you are looking for:

Any questions, please let me know.
