HDR Tone Mapping HW Accelerated Transcoding in Plex

Can the HDR Tone Mapping hardware transcoding be enabled in the windows drivers for the Arc Series of gpu's.

I have recently purchased an Arc 770 16GB LE specifically for it's video transcoding options to allow me & my family to watch my video library when on the go, unfortunately whenever the HDR Tone Mapping is enabled in Plex Media Server it reverts to Software transcoding, this is obviously an extremely heavy burden on the CPU.

When the tone mapping is disabled transcoding is done in hardware but obviously HDR content is then all washed out.

Please Help

Hello Quitessa,

Thank you for posting on the Intel️® communities. We would be more than glad to help you with your issue.

To better assis you, please provide me with the following:

  • What steps have you tried to resolve the customer
  • Is this only when using Plex?
  • Did you contact Plex about this matter?
  • Is Resizable BAR is enabled?
  • We also would like to ask for more system information. Please, create a system report using the Intel®️ System Support Utility (Intel®️ SSU).
    • Download the Intel SSU
    • Open the application and click on "Scan" to see the system and device information. By default, Intel®️ SSU will take you to the "Summary View."
    • Click on the menu where it says: "Summary" to change it to "Detailed View."
    • To save your scan: click on "Next"; then "Save."
