Use this uninstaller: https://downloadcenter.intel.com/download/28598/Intel-Driver-Support-Assistant-Uninstaller?v=t
Then, install the latest IDSA. During the installation, DECLINE the install of the CIP. It will install anyway.
Do not choose to LAUNCH IDSA after the install. Instead, go to the control panel, programs and features, and uninstall the CIP.
All of this assumes you are on Windows 10 version 1809. If not, you should be.

Good evening
Thank you for the solution
But I just restored my laptop to how it was originally from the factory, without losing any software. That worked super well!
Only a few hours lost, no drama
Thanks
Julia
