High Latency with Citrix Workspace

Hello,

I recently purchased an Asus Zenbook Duo UX8406MA with the latest Intel Arc graphics driver. I use Citrix Workspace for work, but since I purchased this laptop, all I experience are high latency within the virtual desktop.

I've read forums to download previous graphics driver, but I only receive the error message "exit code 8." I'm pretty certain Asus placed a restriction on installing legacy hardware due to the dual monitor set up.

I've reached out to Asus for a solution, but was instructed to redirect my question to Intel. I've also disabled the graphics card and Citrix Workspace runs smoothly, but at the expense of losing my dual monitor, which is the sole purpose of getting this laptop. Please advise.

I wanted to provide more of a detailed update. I have been on a bit of a journey to try to figure this out, go on this journey with me.

Brand New Out of the Box Laptops

  • Lenovo Yoga 7i | Intel Ultra Core 7 155U | Integrated Intel Graphics - Citrix Unusable
  • HP Envy | Intel Core Ulta 7 Series 1 | Intel Arc - Citrix Unusable
  • ASUS TUF | Ryzen 7 7735hs | RX7700S - Citrix Works Like A Dream
  • Lenovo Yoga 7 | AMD Ryzen 7 7735U | Integrated AMD Radeon - Citrix Works Like A Dream

My friends, common denominator is Intel and Citrix

Same here on a Samsung Book Pro 4. Can't wait to get updated drivers or whatever it takes to fix this. At the moment Citrix next to unusable.

Hi Same Problem.

Desktop with ARC A770. This problem did not exist some time ago, but has started within a month or two. I always have automatic download of drivers.

The latency is really bad and Citrix occasionally will warn me of a disconnection that is imminent. Have such a hard time working with spreadsheets when remoting in.

For the time being I have to use my Nvidia laptop, hoping I can go back on the desktop someday.

Hello

It's unfortunate that attempting to revert to a previous graphics driver resulted in an error message. The restriction on installing legacy hardware due to the dual monitor setup adds another layer of complexity.

While reaching out to Asus for assistance was your first step, it's disappointing that they redirected you to Intel without providing a resolution. Have you had a chance to explore any other troubleshooting options in the meantime? Disabling the graphics card to allow Citrix Workspace to run smoothly is a temporary workaround, but it's understandably not an ideal solution since it means sacrificing the dual monitor functionality, which was a key feature you were looking forward to.

Regarding Exit code 8, Intel has an article addressing it. You can refer to this article titled "Exit code 8: 'No driver was found that can be installed on the current device.'"

I’ve followed those instructions and unfortunately it does not work because of the hardware instructions.

I’ve been also following the two forums below. While some others said it worked for them, it did not for me.

Ultimately, It’s a fix between Intel and Citrix. Sadly, on Citrix’s website they are touting the collaboration between the companies but from the forums the high latency has been a known issue since September 2023.

Same problem with my brand new laptop. Citrix VM runs ok on android phone but on Intel Ultra 165U it is unusable.

Intel is on the way to hell...

Since the issue is known from September 2023 optimism is not reasonable. I'm returning my device and buying another with AMD because I HAVE TO WORK and I expect that 3k laptop let me to do that.

I'm having the same issue.  Absolutely ridiculous - Intel needs to fix this ASAP.

i just bought the ASUS Zenbook Duo ux8406MA last week too.  Just like people here, everything seems fine except for when running Citrix.  I get a lag/delay.  At first, I thought it was related to my work using GlobalProtect VPN that's causing some sort of throttling.  But my old Dell XPS 13 runs perfectly fine with no issues.

I've noticed running Citrix in window mode has less delay/lag than when doing full screen.
