Hogwarts Legacy Graphical issues on ARC B580

Quite a few other spots are glitchy as well its specifically lighting thats affected in this game atleast

Thank you for posting in our Community and for sharing the link, screenshots, and videos of the exact problem. To help me investigate this further, could you clarify a few things:

  • Does the glitch occur only in this specific area, or in other parts of the game as well?
  • Have you tried lowering or adjusting the in-game graphics settings (e.g., lighting, ray tracing, or shadows) to see if it affects the issue?
  • Are there any background applications running while the game is active that might affect performance?
  • Could you confirm whether the issue occurs when XeSS2 is off, or only when it’s enabled?

Hi VonM, Sorry for the late reply. I was reporting another game so I couldn't get to your message earlier. As for your questions:

  • Sadly this glitch occurs only with certain light sources in this game the general illuminated area glitches out as you can see from the below attached videos[Video 1 and 2]. [Video 1] is another location i encountered the glitch and [Video 2] is the original reason for my report.
  • Yes and this is with Ray tracing OFF and all low settings [Video 3] (Changed back to high)->[Video 4]
  • No Background apps were running
  • No upscaling method was enabled [Video 3](Switched ON XeSS)->[Video 4]

Hello Dhruvajyoti,

Thank you for your patience. To dig a bit deeper, could you please share the SSU logs from the affected system? This will enable me to collect detailed information about your system setup, which could aid in identifying the underlying cause of this issue. Also, as a next step, I recommend doing a clean graphics driver reinstall using DDU, then reinstalling the latest driver afterward. While you’re at it, please double-check whether the system BIOS is fully up to date, as outdated BIOS versions can sometimes cause behavior like this, especially with hardware acceleration.

 

Once you have those done, feel free to send the SSU log over and let me know the results. I’ll take it from there.

These are the steps I've taken just now:

  • This SSU is after a BIOS update which did somewhat help with my other game's stutter.
  • I've DDU'd for a fresh driver install after I had rolled back to 8331.

Still have the glitchy light, but, turning Raytracing ON creates an interesting situation.

If you look at my character model's hair [Video 1] there's the weird shimmer on it before and I just noticed same happens to far away objects which require complex ray calculations; do keep in mind this is all without upscaling of any sort (as shown in the first second of the recording) so there shouldn't be any shimmering happening.

Thanks for sharing the detailed steps and the videos. 

I can see the shimmer you’re pointing out, especially on the character’s hair and distant objects when ray tracing is enabled, even without upscaling. 

 

I’ll need to do some further research and dig into this a bit more on my end. Once I have more information or an update, I’ll circle back and post it here on this thread.
