Hello,
I got ASUS Vivobook 15x k3504va. I saw info that that Resizable BAR can be activated with ARC video (GPU) drivers 31.0.101.5186/31.0.101.5234 from the 24.Jan.2024 for Iris Xe on laptops. Can anyone confirm this and possibly shed some light how.
I getting "unsupported" on my laptop and cant find out how to activate it. I've been digging into BIOS/UEFI options as well but nothing there. CSM(Legacy mode) isn't event available with my BIOS.
Win 10 22H2, BIOS k3504VA.301, 17.Apr.2023
i5-1340p
24GB RAM DDR4 3200MHz [8GB (soldered Micron) + 16GB (SODIMM Corsair Vengence)] running in Flex Mode

Rebar is a feature that usually works with discrete graphics. You can learn more about rebar on this website:
https://www.intel.com/content/www/us/en/support/articles/000090831/graphics.html
To find out if you can enable rebar on your computer, I suggest you reach out to asus, as they are the manufacturer of your computer.
These are some websites I found from the asus website that might be helpful:

Hi - you mentioned usually. So its not like a hard rule or ? I dont understand much about it I also thought its discrete GPUs only but it seems some devices with Intel Iris Xe got it activated.
The reason I started this thread is because I stumbled on the info that some Microsoft Surface Pro 9 and Samsung Galaxy Book Pro received it.
https://www.reddit.com/r/GalaxyBook/comments/yzlamj/iris_xe_graphics_update_resizable_bar_now/
This one has an image at the bottom even the Arc driver shows it.
https://answers.microsoft.com/en-us/surface/forum/all/how-to-enable-resizable-bar-within-uefi-on-surface/d9988ab6-3a3b-4a52-9598-1c894d6b507c
So yeah I hope someone explains why they get it and for e.g. my vivobook not.
I had a chat with techpowerup from GPU-Z and they said that “ the device itself does not indicate any sort of Resizable BAR capability.”
And in my case it seems I need firmware/bios/uefi update.
I am really curious about all of this 🙂

The links you shared seem to pertain to surface pro. However, for the rebar issue, your computer manufacturer would be the best source of information (ASUS), as they can modify your system.
Therefore, I suggest that you contact them and inquire about it.

The reddit link is about Samsung Galaxy. Counting the Surface pro we got two diff devices with iGPU Iris Xe having ReBar on. About contacting ASUS I already did.
Their reply was “… the option is not available in notebook BIOS.
For compatible products, this shall be added with a future update, but unfortunately we do not have an estimate on that. ”
