How to run eFootball and PES on Intel UHD Graphics ?

Hello,
I have a Lenovo ThinkPad P16 Gen 2 with these specs: Intel Core i7-13850HX (13th Gen), 32GB RAM, Intel UHD Graphics (Raptor Lake-S), 128MB dedicated VRAM, 16GB shared memory

The problem is that I can't run eFootball 2021 or PES 2017. The games open, but they crash when I start a match. I’ve seen weaker laptops (even with Intel Core i3 and 8GB RAM) running these games without problems.

Can someone help me understand how to optimize this GPU for gaming? Maybe a BIOS setting, VRAM adjustment, or any special driver?

Thank you!

Hi, katshanfu.

Thank you for posting in our Community and providing detailed information about your system. Your Lenovo ThinkPad P16 Gen 2, equipped with the Intel® Core™ i7-13850HX and integrated Intel® UHD Graphics (Raptor Lake-S), should be capable of running eFootball 2021 and PES 2017, even if you have to lower the graphics settings. I understand that you have a laptop. Since this is an OEM (Lenovo ThinkPad P16 Gen 2) original equipment manufacturer device, please take into consideration that our support may be limited since we are not familiar with the technology, settings, customizations, custom drivers, and features that the OEM has designed and installed your system, nevertheless, I will do my best to assist you with your concern. To help pinpoint the root cause and recommend the best course of action, I’d like to ask a few clarifying questions and suggest some initial checks:

  • Do you receive any specific error messages when the game crashes?
  • Are you running the games through Steam, standalone, or another launcher?
  • You told me about your CPU, RAM, and laptop model, but I would like to go one step further and confirm details such as OS build# and see if there are errors logged. The SSU can collect the information that can be helpful to me. For your privacy and security, I have already sent you an email to collect the SSU reports. Once I receive the logs, I can investigate further and provide better assistance.

Additionally, if you've conducted any additional tests, please share the details so we can avoid repeating the same steps and proceed more efficiently.

Have a nice day!

Hi,

Thank you for your reply and support. Yes, I’ve already performed several tests and tried multiple solutions, but nothing has worked so far.

I’m running the game directly through the executable file, not through Steam or any other launcher. There are no specific error messages when the issue occurs. The game launches perfectly and even displays a nice Full HD image, but just before the match starts—right when the players enter the pitch—the application closes automatically. That’s what happens with efootball 2021.

For PES 2017, the game runs and I can even play, but I experience heavy screen flickering and glitches during gameplay.

Thank you again for your assistance.

Hello, katshanfu.

I appreciate your detailed feedback and for diligently following the recommended steps. Given the symptoms you've described, particularly that eFootball 2021 closes just before gameplay begins and PES 2017 exhibits heavy screen flickering, this behavior strongly suggests a compatibility or rendering issue, possibly at the graphics driver or game engine level.

To move forward effectively, I would like to go one step further and confirm details such as OS build# and see if there are errors logged. The SSU can collect the information that can be helpful to me. For your privacy and security, I have already sent you an email to collect the SSU reports. Once I receive the logs, I can investigate further and provide better assistance.

Hello, katshanfu.

Thank you for your patience. As I begin my internal replication process, I would appreciate your assistance with the following information:

  1. What are the in-game graphics settings you’re currently using (e.g., resolution, texture quality, anti-aliasing, V-Sync, etc.)?
  2. Where did you download or purchase eFootball 2021 (e.g., Steam, Epic Games Store, physical media)?
